The few hours of Brutal Legend I played were pretty funny. And how could I forget Saints Row The Third? That game is way over the top, but great fun to play.

I rather like the Kinect. Admittedly, I don't use a lot for actual gaming, but it can provide some fun in a group setting. I use my Kinect mostly for the voice controls. Since the Dashboard update, voice recognition has improved significantly for DB and app navigation. It also proved to be a useful tool for Mass Effect 3 since it allows voice commands with the Kinect. But these are my personal reasons for owning a Kinect. If you don't feel that the games for it are interesting or that voice recognition doesn't entice you, I would advise waiting for a White Slim sans Kinect.

I finsihed Mass Effect 3 about a week ago, and I have to say that I was a little sad to see the end of the series. It's very rare that a game can have this effect on; the last time it happened was with Red Dead Redemption. When I bought ME 3, I picked Vanquish as well for like $10. I didn't touch it all during at all during my playthrough of ME 3 and I'm glad I didn't. I was surprised at how much it lifted my spirits. While I thoroughly enjoyed playing Mass Effect, it seemed really bleak at times. Vanquish's high energy, fast paced gameplay was what I needed to bring me out of my funk.

While the controls in Tomb Raider: Underworld are okay, moving Lara around was way too imprecise. I stopped playing after a couple of hours because I got tired of dealing with the wonky movement. The funny thing about that: I had no issue with Legend at all that came close to my issues with Underworld.

That behavior is pretty much normal for me, and it has been for a long time now.

Pod racing, lightsaber battles, and dancing. One of these things just doesn't belong. I mean come on, that last bit CAN'T be real. MS and Terminal Reality has to be trolling the world with that dancing minigame, and they are trolling HARD.

I think the Call of Duty games are fine. I do enjoy playing through the campaigns of each one (although MW3 was a bit of a let down). Multiplayer can be fun as well, that is if I'm not dying every thirty steps. I think one of the biggest reasons people are so down on the series is that Activision is intent on keeping it on an annual release schedule. There has been a CoD every year since 2005 and it can get tiring. As far as gameplay is concerned, I can understand incremental changes to the formula as the series goes on so as not to alienate veteran players. The issue is that since new games are released so frequently, whatever changes that are made seem overshadowed by the fact that gameplay feels the exact same as it did the year before, except with a new $60 price tag. Another issue I have is the graphics. I don't think MW3 is a terrible looking game - I have seen far worse - it's just that I would expect more of visual evolution in the series.

I don't remember disc swapping being that big of an issue for ME 2. Wasn't the case for Mass Effect 2 was that the story missions were split across two discs , but you could still access the other content (planets, side missions, etc) regardless of what disc you were on? I only swappped discs twice while playing ME 2, and it worked fine.

You're gonna have to be doubly excited and enjoy the game for both as I can't afford right now (I hate being broke  ).
