"Back in my day" you had to pay Alienware $7,000 to build a laptop that was this on par with PC gaming, and the battery would last 20 minutes when unplugged and it'd burn and bruise your legs if you set it on your lap.
Seriously though, that's really good specs for a laptop and while I'm no longer in the position to desire a gaming capable laptop, I do remember building Alienware laptops on their site and laughing at the price back in the day (read, before Dell bought them) and man this is no where near that price point. I'd be interested if this trend in price reduction for super high-end laptops continues and what that'll mean on the greater PC market.
@thequickshooter: It says right in the article that the HP laptop uses a mechanical keyboard as well. Did you even read it?
I myself have always been an ASUS laptop buyer (at least I was before building my own PC) so my wife now uses my last ASUS. I have got to say though, these new HP Omen series seem to be pretty legit compared to the HP budget fair my son has the unfortunate pleasure of using for his elementary school assignments.
@tallestjon95: While I think criticism could be handled a bit better I do wholeheartedly agree that noise and cooling should be standard in GPU reviews. How does the card hold up to a day long session in summer temperatures? What's the idle noise like (I know on my 970 strix the fans don't kick in at all so it's 0db which is amazing).
I've personally never even heard of Zotac but at first glance it just seems like an iffy manufacture that wants to win a spec sheet war without consideration for long term product viability.
@Keaze_: Oh I don't even think Uncharted 2 was a masterpiece. There is definitely a level of fandom at play which I think your original post touches on quite well.
@Keaze_: Interesting perspective. They are all the same genre IMO so I don't hold it against them to constatly make action/adventure games just like I wouldn't hate on another company for only making racers, or shooters, or fighting games either. It sounds like that genre just isn't your thing and I think that's okay too. The Action/Adventure genre is very popular in entertainment as a whole, so to not care for that would certainly put you in the minority which makes sense.
I do think as a game in that genre, they do their formula very well. Much like Marvel movies, it is certainly a formula that is reused over and over again and just like the Marvel movies they are critically acclaimed and generally loved by the masses.
And that's where I think we agree. I don't like the formula that Marvel movies follow, it's just not my thing so I don't watch them. I'm okay with people enjoying the same movie with different scenarios though every summer when another one comes out however :)
Perhaps both can be looked at like apple pie. While it only just apple pie, naughty dog has figured out the perfect recipe for apple pie that apple pie lovers adore. If you are into apple pie, then the best of the best is Naughty Dogs.
While I highly encourage buying and playing through the recent 1.5 + 2.5 package on PS4, I can't imagine after so many years they wouldn't include some sort of "refresher" for KH3. Perhaps a movie like the ones included in the package mentioned or perhaps they just ease and reiterate things pacing wise within the KH3 story proper.
