Here at Ubisoft we find that designing an open world game is a lot like paraphrasing your own work. Just take something you already created, then just delete a couple sentences, change a couple sentences and maybe even add a couple sentences then bang, bob's your uncle, a new open world experience.

@Trickymaster Sure, the Link in the tech demo was cool. But I'm super stoked that Zelda U does not look like that. It would easily get written off as another OoT clone (like Twilight Princess did). Plus, that footage of Zelda U was absolutely incredible.

@shaunmc @Darkhol0w Do games start out as 0s? Darkhollow does have a point, not that I don't see your point too Shaun. Cons, or whatever merited this game an 8 and not a 10 should probably be pointed out. This will help slowly establish the line of what makes a game an 8 and what makes a game a 10.

@BrunoBRS @Rotondi The first footage of the sequel to Link to the Past looked mind numbingly boring? What?

"I do admit that my first impression of Mario Kart 8 was pretty close to a yawn"

Besides this comment being hard to believe, it seems Gamespot in general has been feeling this way about all Nintendo first party titles before launch (especially A link Between Worlds and 3D World), then once they get to actually play them, their mind changes completely. I's really getting to sound like a broken record.

Here's Infamous with a slightly more cartoony look.

Mlb the Show has always been a great baseball game, but I have to admit I'm kind of underwhelmed by this footage of the PS4 version. Like some others have mentioned, it's just a port with some better graphics. \Maybe next year we will get the major updated version, that not only looks like it was built around PS4 tech but also the gameplay too. Who knows, maybe I'm majorly wrong and this MLB14 the show feels a lot different on the PS4, but I doubt it.

Maybe I have superpowers or something, but if I watch an hour of gameplay footage of a particular game (gameplay footage from like a couple weeks before release that is), I usually have a solid Idea of how I'll personally feel about that game once I actually play it. Maybe it's a case of making judgement beforehand, then my mind forcing me to keep that predetermined opinion. Then again I can't really ever think of a game I saw gameplay footage of, then had a completely different opinion of it once I began playing it (there was that Aliens colonial marines fiasco, but that stemmed from misrepresentation).

It's the same as watching your buddy play Titanfall over at his house. Do I really need to be holding the controller to cast my opinion? Gameplay footage that Gamespot and other gaming sites provide us gamers is pretty in-depth these days, and while it may not be technically correct, I think most GS users can make up their mind and cast a solid opinion on games before release. Of course I don't agree with the WAY some GS users cast their opinion, though. This right here is what makes their opinions more incredulous than the fact that they haven't "played" the game.
