I think Cliffy was just dellusional thinking this game had a chance to be something. Any person monitoring the industry could see this resolve a mile away.

As much as most of you won't like it: it's a good thing they shut down Visceral. They were only ever making bad games, at least in my opinion.

The game is coming out right at the junction of 2 console generations, which (among many other negative factors) will spell its doom.

@The_Stand_In: Ha, Mirror's Edge is absolutely dead, so is Need for Speed. The Sims doesn't seem to be very alive either.

So what they're basically saying is that they found no way to implement LOOTBOXES into the singleplayer game and are now scrapping it.

Maybe FIFA 14 is not valuable at all when you have other iterations, but still - very bad precedent. Next year they'll remove FIFA15 and other "seasonal" games like that under the same pretense.
