I might buy an Xbox One just for this collection. Halo 2 multiplayer is unmatched on consoles.

Where would you be if your dad wasn't suave enough to land your mom? You wouldn't exist or someone much uglier would take your place. But there's also the possibility that someone much superior would take your place.

Where would gaming be if the NES failed? It wouldn't exist, or it would be as relevant and fun as the Gizmodo. But there's always the slight possibility it could have resulted into something far better than what we have.

Ps4. It plays the games I want, more affordable, aesthetically pleasing/more compact when compared to a PC. Besides, I find most PC cases to be abominations. I also despise PC gaming culture. Just not for me.

I agree, but why buy any device? Nothing beats staring at the blue HDMI input screen after work. My favorite part is when that screen saver appears, and then it automatically shuts down because life is a drag.

You characterize successful Nintendo consoles as failed hardware experiments but provide no evidence to prove it. Don't tell me your evidence is the lack of 3rd party games. Failure in business comes down to losing money, and failure in "hardware innovation" consists of a broad rejection of said innovations from consumers and competitors--and they almost never happen to Nintendo.

Nintendo's innovations in game and hardware design are almost always imitated by their competition.

Sorry you can't play GTA on your GameCube, but you're wrong about everything.

I was never able to get into it, despite trying. I'm encountering the same frustrations with Tearaway. I can't seem to spot what objectively makes them so critically acclaimed, either--maybe it's the sandbox aspect? The forced charm and storybook narration get irritating very quickly.

@OhSnapitz: you are correct. A competent online service is fundamental at this point, and it's bizarre that Nintendo has been so hesitant to embrace it after so many do-overs. They're actively alienating a large group of players. I, personally, never play games online so it doesn't affect me.

@2Chalupas: although I generally don't care for console sales and system wars nonsense, I do hope the WiiU sells well. It's the last of a dying breed: a no frills, gaming-only device with software primarily designed for core gamers.

@2Chalupas: interesting point. I never considered the effects of ending PS3/360 development in relation to the WiiU 3rd party output. It's a similar situation to the Wii, only this time the WiiU doesn't enjoy the large audience the Wii did. That could mean little to none 3rd party games

Does professional reviewer mean anything in the real world? Do they have greater intuition than any other human capable of holding a controller? If not, then why is their opinion held to such high regard in the OP?
