@risingdawn: This has nothing to do with the games; this has to do with "preorder" vs "no preorder," and the ability to meet ACTUAL customer demand (whether it's 10 units or 10M units).

@battousai611: The purpose of a preorder is to determine the size of the initial production run, not the other way around.

What happens to subsequent forecasting should be based on actual unit sell-through, which is also VERY simple to manage (assuming they do it correctly).

Pay attention, Nintendo -- THIS is how you gauge customer/production demand correctly.

@khanwashere: I'd just recommend backing away from that screen a bit... Or at least turn the brightness down. That can't be good for your eyesight (Plus at 3', wouldn't you be missing details in your peripheral vision?)
