@crazimax I say that in this article. That exact thing.

@Barrakas21 I care what @Gelugon_baat thinks, regardless of whether our opinions are in line. And if you're going to get on somebody's case, you may as well critique the arguments they make instead of giving a blanket dismissive "nobody cares what you think," seeing as how neither of us can speak for everybody.

A few points of clarification here, after having read through most (if not all) of these comments: 1) I am not against preordering. I do it myself from time to time, especially with hardware. It's an easy way to know you'll get a game ASAP and not have to think about it again. 2) This article was intended to make people consider the longer-term ramifications of preordering the very moment they are able to, which is basically to tell publishers that a teaser trailer that may or may not represent actual content is plenty, thanks. No need to actually show us a game or real innovation; we're throwing our money at you regardless. 3) I don't blame people for preordering Assassin's Creed 3. It sounds pretty cool, much more so than Revelations and Brotherhood, given the new setting. I just want them to keep in mind the message they are sending through their actions.

@RealFabioSooner The point of the article was more a response to Suda co-opting the punk image and applying it to his own studio as a marketing identity, and then promoting it as if the game (and Suda himself) was like every other mainstream publisher product. I'm not particularly strident about what counts as "punk" and what doesn't, but I don't think I'm straying too far into the realm of logical fallacy to say there's some disconnect there. If not, then I guess tomorrow I can write a blog on why Justin Bieber is completely f'n death metal.

@KillerJuan77 Crush was made by UK-based Zoe Mode and published by Sega. And at the risk of assuming something wrong, you and I have never finished a game with amazing scores either, but we still have opinions and aren't afraid to put them out there.

@cameio @joel_c17 @Gelugon_baat Yes, Microsoft's over-priced hard drives are senselessly gouging customers as well. This has been covered on the site before. A quick search picked up these two, and I have no doubts there's more to be found on the subejct: http://www.gamespot.com/soapbox/index.html?page=5 (scroll to Danny's Hard Drive, Tough Sell blog) http://www.gamespot.com/news/xbox-360-hard-drives-could-we-get-a-price-check-6233926 The difference is that the site is calling more attention to opinion pieces in the form of editorials rather than blogs now. Rest assured I've got no love for Microsoft exploiting consumers, either. So when they screw up (as with their ongoing failure to clamp down on FIFA scams), I won't hesitate to call them on it.

@taevion0 Neither, actually. This was something I wrote because it was something I wanted to say.

@GymFox There are some companies screwing it up, but the traditional handheld business model isn't entirely dependent on that sort of obnoxious behavior the way the current mobile boom is. @RealFabioSooner That made my day. I think I'm going to print that comment out and epoxy a copy of it to Magrino's desk.

@LtReviews There are countless talented devs working on uninspired sequels. I just want them to be able to strike out on their own and do the projects they want to do. I don't see this as adding unwanted noise into the Kickstarter channel. It's not like people with no development experience are inherently more deserving than those who at one time worked in mainstream games.
