@joshrmeyer: No. HDMI 2.1 can be implemented with updates only if the requisite hardware is in place. It's not possible via firmware update alone. Sony didn't design the Pro with the capability in mind, MS did.

@awperator666: What are the 4k games on Pro? You mean the 2 or 3 indie games that are already out and nobody cares about? What are the 4k native AAAs coming out on Pro? What games will be receiving 4k texture and asset updates? That would be ZERO games.
What games even render above 1440p or 1800p...I don't think ANY except those 2 or 3 native 4k indie games you couldn't even name without googling.
Plenty to play on Xbox Nathan Drake, Xbox players will have the better version of the Crash remasters in December, along with the best multiplats on console, and great exclusives like Cuphead and Super Lucky's Tale, Horizon 3 in 4k, Forza 7, etc.
@awperator666: Your the one who sounds like a jealous Playstation fanboy who has to downplay how much better and more powerful the 1X is as a console to make yourself feel better not having one.
Persona 5 looks great in 4k? I read that game runs in 1080p on the Pro, and the textures are PS2 level of quality. Yeah, enjoy that.
XB1X is the only console CAPABLE of rendering true 4k textures and assets. PS4 half baked Pro is just a 1440p upscale machine with games geared mostly toward Japanese, I'm not Japanese.

XB1X delivers the best playing and looking games on ANY console. No it doesn't have the same exclusives as PS4, but EVERYTHING ELSE, which is MOST games, play and look better on the 1X, playing on anything else is a substandard experience that wastes your 4k display, if you even have one.
I don't game on PC. Will be picking up Cuphead, Super Lucky's Tale, AC:O, Shadow Of War, and Wolfenstein, and maybe some others, Cuphead isn't on PS4 and NEVER will be, and the rest will all look better than on Pro. Who are you to dismiss Cuphead and Super Lucky's Tale as not being substantial? By all objective accounts they both look great and if they were on PS4 you'd probably be championing them.
Also there are strong indications former PS4 console exclusives such as Crash Bandicoot trilogy and Nier Automata will be making their way to Xbox before the end of the year, and look better than they ever did on PS4. Not to mention huge multiplayer games such as PUBG releasing only on Xbox this year. Not everyone games on PC don't be so narrow minded to think the success of the 1X hinges on MS exclusives alone cause it doesn't, not everyone is you.
@awperator666: In the US it's only $100 more than Pro and your getting 1000x the machine. There are first party games in the future, in fact they releasing more first party between now and end of year than Sony. Also not everyone uses consoles just for exclusives. Xbox is my primary gaming platform so I have plenty of games to play. How the hell do you know all of what MS has coming out in all of 2018 and 2019? That's not public information, so you don't know. Crazy price? For a supposed PC guy you don't seem to know anything about prices. A comparable GPU performance in a PC in line with what the 1X can do will run you 4-500 alone, that's the total cost of the whole console. MS is already hardly making anything at all on selling this hardware, it's a great value, you have no argument, this is not subjective.
@Random_Matt: They know how many to make, they're not Nintendo. Nintendo relies on artificial scarcity (or is it outright corporate incompetence? either way...) to hype and sell their products. MS just makes them and puts them out there. You don't have to go on ebay and help scalpers get rich to buy a damn console.
