@GarGx1: That would be nothing but your personal taste towards those more PC-centric genre games that have always been more traditionally PC games, Civ games were never meant for console. PC is not better at "everything" and doesn't work so great for everyone in every situation. PC is not some singular platform, everyone has a DIFFERENT machine with different specs! Your experience will vary wildly from someone who has a better or worse rig than you.

You say that as you must have a "gaming" PC but not everyone does. I don't want to game mainly on a desktop PC, at a desk, sitting in an office-type chair, on a small monitor, and I don't have a gaming laptop to HDMI to a TV and I feel most of you PC elitist types aren't gaming on laptops. I want to game from my couch on my 70" TV, throw in a disc, or start up a digital game, and know I'm having an experience optimized for the console that is no worse graphically or in processor-power inferior to anyone else playing on an Xbox One. And the games I play look great to me, I don't load up Youtube videos of max setting PC games while I'm playing and have my enjoyment of the gameplay (emphasis on gameplay. not the graphics, as it gameplay that really matters) affected because I don't have the same degree of lighting or shadow effects.

I like that I'm going to maintain the same quality of experience for the life of the console, without changing out parts or worrying that my machine's specs are falling out of date and the games that come out 2 years from now will run bad, cause they won't, they'll still run great like today's games. Already spent $500 on a launch Xbox One, going to get my money's worth and not be bothered about internal parts or special settings for each individual game I play. Are there even disks for PC games anymore? So you can't do trade-ins, also the online may be free but with Xbox Gold though you pay a low $60 you are given dozens of games for FREE for 2 consoles all year, plus access to exclusive discounts that can save you a lot of money, so there's just a couple things that PC is not better at.

Not to mention I don't really care for any of the games on this list and the titles slated for Xbox One and PS4 interest me much more. There are some PC exclusives through Steam I think are cool but they are not my main focus that I'd spend tons of time with, overall I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

@nourldean You don't have to sit there and think any of that for this list and story to be relevant, and for this to be yet more concrete evidence Nintendo is in TROUBLE. They can't sell their outdated console with a minuscule library and no 3rd party support, and they're trying to push out NX, whatever that is, abandon the Wii U, and the NX everyone knows will be underpowered and not get 3rd party support either. More of the same old sh!t from Nintendo, Mario Kart is fun but not gonna buy a new system every 2-4 years to play a new Mario Kart, Smash, Mario game, and Zelda. Nintendo is still very old fashioned in their thinking, still full of themselves, and arrogant. If NX is a failure they could well be DONE as a hardware manufacturer like Sega was after the Dreamcast and it's other systems that didn't catch on....then if they want to stay in business at all they will have to swallow their foolish pride and port their precious Italian plumber and little blonde boy in green cloak games to Xbox and Playstation, and maybe PC.

Nintendo doesn't seem to learn from their mistakes. I'm too busy playing great games like Witcher 3, Mad Max, Shadows of Mordor, GTA V, and the amazing back catalog of 360 titles to bother paying hundreds for an already being abandoned and phased out system, the wii u, to play more goddamn Mario games and a Zelda game that's still not out, that I care nothing about. You know what was cool? Mario 64. That game will be 20 YEARS old next year....I'm a freaking adult now....I don't get excited over a new Mario game. I play adult themed games now. Let me know when the price of a Wii U with Mario Kart drops to like $50. I was never one of these Nintendo obsessed kids anyway. I liked Sega in the 90s, now my console loyalties lie with Microsoft, and I have a Windows PC for PC stuff.

As a scifi fan, and someone who looked forward to SPORE for years and then got bored with that in the span of just a few months, I'm VERY skeptical how this will turn out. I'm worried there just won't be enough to do that will actively engage me. In Spore you would run into all these garbage creations people named, with ridiculous stupid names, often UNPAINTED/UNTEXTURED, and all you could do is MAYBE spend hours and hours of not fun, creating a filtered list to only show creations from certain creators, which locked down what was supposed to be this great feature of the game of constantly running into cool new stuff people made. It was a chore to manage all your colonies, no planet felt special or important cause there were so many. You'd have attacks on one colony way far away and have to keep backtracking instead of checking out new stuff.

I never made it to the center of the galaxy or the Grox or any of that. Never got the one parts expansion or the one story based, get out of your ship on planets expansion either. As far as I know the game has basically gone unsupported since then. And the Sporepedia, with everyone's creations has been down and getting moved to another server for MONTHS, leaving what remains of that player base totally hanging. I like that this game seems targeted for a more mature audience, has better, more realistic graphics, and looks really cool, huge open world to explore, etc.

But what do you DO?! People will name things with their twitter handles or bathroom humor, way to kill the immersion. Do none of the species evolve? No dialog or specific missions/quests ever? Just wander around? I love games like Witcher 3, Mad Max, and GTA V, where there is a story, but you have great freedom to ignore that story if you like, go off on your own, and interact with the MANY fun and interesting gameplay elements there are in all those open worlds. I need some meat on my gameplay bones in other words. I don't have a PS4, and my PC is 2012 old and probably wouldn't run this good, so I will wait to see how this is received and watch a lot of gameplay, and maybe get it for PC when I get a new one or get it on Xbox One should it be released on that within 1-3 years or so.

Also don't like that he says it will be rare to run into other players. Seems like it will get boring/lonely. What about AI allies even? Naming things will get old. Love the idea of discovering new species but what can you actually do with them, in terms of interaction? And whatever trading/dipolomacy there is, the more menus and GUI/HUD graphics I see in a space, or any game for that matter, the more bored I get. I want to play a GAME, not spend hours of my valuable free time staring at menu after menu, reading words. Not into that shit.

Anyone who feels like they got burned by Spore, be weary of this game and keep expectations low.
