@slyfox_28 @MetalMan300 To who? Call of Duty? Because Call of Duty games tend to change more than most of Nintendo's do. It's the truth, simple as that. If you like playing Nintendo's games more than CoD then I respect that (it's all about opinions), but what I'm saying about Nintendo's lack of change is 100% true. Other M was hardly my favorite Metroid game, but I'd rather have a series take a risk and not entirely succeed than stay safe (in true Nintendo and CoD fashion) and keep putting out the same games. The gameplay was pretty fun too. If I recall correctly Other M got a lot of crap for its story and portrayal of Samus, which I couldn't care less about. No one plays Nintendo games for stories anyway.

Believe it or not, Other M wasn't factually a bad game. That's the wonderful part about opinions.

@Vegamyster @MetalMan300 Thoughtful response. Free online is actually going to be a pretty big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I do hope that Nintendo adds more bang to its online service to make it more competitive with the scale of Xbox Live. Backwards compatibility was something I wished that the Xbox One had, but I guess I don't mind keeping my 360 around to play some older games once in a while.

@robn311 My issue is that the price isn't that much lower to justify the weaker technology, the games are already all looking to be the same as before (there's going to be a new Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong game? Ya don't say!), and it's easy to say that a system is great when you're trying to justify your purchase for it (I imagine that Vita owners are still talking about how great it is when it really won't be until it gets some good games).

@Vegamyster @MetalMan300 The Legend of Zelda series? (Skyward Sword was just a crappy rehash of Ocarina of Time with barely functional motion controls) Super Mario Galaxy? (which was basically Super Mario 64 with better graphics and motion controls?) Super Smash Bros? Kirby? The only series that really managed to make any kind of jump at all was the Metroid series. Prime was a lot of fun, and despite the crap it got, I actually liked the gameplay of Other M.

@Shango4 I hate it when people use facts to support their predictions too.

In all seriousness, what's there to get tired of? What he said has been true from Nintendo for years now. There's no reason to get a WiiU as of now unless you want to keep playing the same games Nintendo has been making for the last 25 years.

@the_big_doggg Exactly. Nintendo has a long history of making systems with decent first party software and crappy third party ports. Putting nostalgia to the side (and as an N64 and Wii owner myself), this is a pattern that has been going since the N64. I don't know who keeps buying new Nintendo consoles, unless people want to play sequels to old Nintendo games that are even more similar than most Call of Duty sequels.

@Warful @Antagonist8503 Hey now, ODST was awesome. It's important to remember that, surprisngly enough, people have opinions that will likely be different than yours. And you know what else? We don't know that this game is a 10/10 yet, because we haven't played it. I think it looks awesome, and I'm definitely going to play it, but it's an opinion for a reason. 8.0 is also "Great" on Gamespot's scale, so I don't get why everyone is treating it like it's a 1/10. Who cares what their reviews say? Just play the game and decide for yourself. I love the Mass Effect series, and I wouldn't suddenly flip out if someone else didn't find it as awesome as I did. Why does everyone care so much?

Yeah guy, it's like Tom has an opinion or something! He's not allowed to say anything critical of the game or have freedom of choice, because this game is definitely a 10/10, and probably the game of the year. I know this, even though I haven't actually played it yet. Maybe you should've tried not playing the game and forming your opinion based on other people's reviews McShea!

In all seriousness people, stop being stupid. The video review should've been longer and covered more details, but the written review covers plenty of material. I'm glad to see a review that isn't just throwing out a 10 because everyone else is. What's important to remember is that the review is STILL POSITIVE, and this review doesn't force you to change your opinion on the game, or decide whether or not it's worth picking up. I'll just buy it and try it out myself and form my opinion, but only ONCE I'VE PLAYED IT.

You guys should do the same.

Excellent article, honestly before reading it I hadn't really thought about it all that much. As a Christian, I think it would be interesting to see a lot more of though. Why haven't other games really gotten around to seriously addressing personal faith? Most of the time it's only seen in games like Dante's Inferno, that may use it as a backdrop but not really delve into the themes all that much. But imagine if more games did! Nice article Gamespot, keep it up.
