Ugh, terrible score. But from what I have heard nice music and graphics though. What were they thinking is a good way of describing this? Here is to a hoping that it fixes its issues.

Either way, The Old Republic is next to flop and I will be preparing to write my anti-bioware thread

Diablo 3 looks nice but I am having a bad feeling based on what we have heard that it will be dumbed down (no attribute points for example). Of course, sequels add stuff too so I still cant wait for it. Playing with friends is always fun.

*sigh* PC gaming, its sad how they never get to play games like MGS4, Uncharted2, heck even Demon Souls which is the best single player to online cross over game ive ever played :)

iMojo786_PSN

I am a PC gamer and I have a PS3, out of those the only one that I even liked was Demons Souls. I couldn't bear more of MGS4 after act 2 and the Uncharted 2 demo didnt entertain me one bit. Cinematic gaming is the worst thing to happen imo.

Demons souls was excellent however, but a bit on the easy side, yes there I said it, Demons Souls is EASY, or maybe it was the way I played the game that made it easy. Invading black phantoms didn't stand much of a chance due to the fact that they only had 60-70% of their max hp and even then I usually got to the boss before they would get to me.

First of all this is just a company trying to appeal to the Otaku subculture, which is still a generally frowned minority. Second, this game came out last year. Third, the character being fed a sausage appears to be between 15-20 so she is a teen, not a child, also the age of consent there is 13. Fourth, if it keeps people away from doing it in real life, I got nothing against it.

A certain party decided to root out various SICK images on the internet here, and guess what, the sex crime rate increased. So trying to ban this would be stupid and a big failure, remember the war on drugs? Big failure right there.

Either way, this looks like something that I would NEVER touch, that previous fps already creeped me out. It would interest the Otaku culture, but not anyone else. I am not for this but I am not against it either.

Very expected news, also very bad. I had no hope in Kinect/Natal being good ever since it was stated that black people had problems using it, which made me wonder, what problems will come next.

I see no problem with this actually. Considering a lot of the ads I have seen over here involve 6-9 year olds advertising. As has been stated before the youth are seen as healthy, happy and spirited which in turn makes them an excellent tool for advertising.

Mount and Blade is at the top with almost 300 hours played. I don't know why but it never gets old chucking axes into vassals and knights charging at you with a couched lance which (for those who haven't played the game) is pretty much an instant kill.

Orange box is pretty much tied with Mount and Blade with a very similar game time. Tonnes of mods using the source engine coupled with Team Fortress 2 the best multiplayer experience this gen, heck yeah.

Dead rising 2 seems to be doing a good job with its replay value while SC2 will be up there once more custom maps come. I dont want to buy Monster hunter tri in fear of it being too addicting, I was already asorbed into demons souls.

Overrated: The word overrated

Underrated: Starcraft 2 (3 stars at Amazon and 2.5 earlier, lots of hate outside Gamespot), Mount and Blade Warband

Game that scored too high: Civilization 5

As much as I hyped civilization 5, it just got boring really fast. In many ways it felt it lacked the depth compared to previous entries in the series, many aspects had been dumbed down or are just broken. Many tool tips don't give enough information (marsh has a 25% penalty but you wouldn't know because the game doesn't tell you). Then the removal of civics the replacement of talent trees, of all things talent trees in a strategy game. Gone are religions (sure Civ 4's religions were poorly implemented), gone are corporations, gone is diplomacy with the current borked AI. I have conquered several nations without losing a single unit, why because the AI is very dumb. Happiness is relatively meaningless and health is gone, trade is only possible via roads and not rivers or water. Don't get me wrong, it is better than Elemental but it is no way in hell a 9 out of 10 game. I dislike the new UI, being more cumbersome than the UI in previous games. There are tonnes of other issues I would like to put up but I don't want to flood the thread, here is a link for several other issues.

Vanilla Oblivion is pretty lousy, but can be a lot of fun if you mod it. Daggerfall is still the best in the series followed by Morrowind.

[QUOTE="dreDREb13"]

I suppose, but then... I'm not thinking about staring at a person with a knife, swinging it into their damn torso, and missing. :P Somehow, it's different in D&D. Maybe it's just I get distracted by all the other fun stuff.

KHAndAnime

Just pretend every time you miss, they dodged it. I guarantee you wouldn't be able to land every strike with a knife against another person in real life. :P I have a feeling that you if you played Morrowind more, you'd enjoy it. Most people acquire a taste for the game after a few hours - sort of like Deus Ex. Most people don't like Deus Ex the first time they play it, and the same applies for Morrowind.

Whenever I missed in that game I just pretended the attack just bounced off. TBH, swords were not as effective as they were in the stories, I remember seeing somewhere a flick of someone using a katana against a plate mail, and the Katana just couldn't cut through the armor. Still, once your skill in using whatever weapon you are using improves so to will your hit rate, and the misses will bother you a lot less.

To me DLC are basicly like cheaper expansion packs with less content. Day 1 DLC however is BAAAAAD. There are still developers out there who give out free content patches.

But developers have infinite money and porting games cost like 0 dollars.

No but seriously, many people accuse devs of being lazy, despite the fact that porting is not as easy as it seems. There are several things to take into account such as optimization, which can be quite difficult. Then to program a game for the Xbox is not the same as programming for a PS3, as a result many developers hire people to make port the game to different systems. As a result, programmer skill comes into account and not every developer wants to hire the best PS3, PC or 360 programmer (or cant simply because they are unavailable) considering that their goal is still to make money. Remember the PS3 launch where pretty much EVERY PS3 version was inferior to the 360 version, that alone explains that porting isn't always an easy task.

But you stated it yourself, it is a business decision and not being lazy. Correct me if I am wrong in any of my points though. Nice post as usual.
