It would seem a sensible way to keep the early series "alive" since the Xbox One lacks backwards compatibility.

If the price is right, I might be interested.

I bought it during the Steam Sale and, I must admit, I like it. It encourages you to backtrack to get stuff you couldn't otherwise retrieve and the story is handled pretty well.

Mass Effect series, as mentioned. But also:

Total Annihilation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_SvjZElgno and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6mZZiI4ShQ

Supreme Commander: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-vKTsqGRDo

It's the trailer music...but most of it is in the game somewhere...

Forget Red Alert 3. RA 2 is still my favourite. What were they thinking with RA3, seriously?

mhofever

This in every way. I got bored and irritated with RA3 during the first campaign and (possibly alone here) I found C&C3 stale and not different enough from the original C&C (I also hated Tiberian Sun for not having enough big battles).

RA2 was great. But so many RTS series have been spoiled over the years (bar Starcraft), that I rarely feel positive about buying them.

I got bored and decided I wasn't entirely happy with my last effort. I played around with the same image...

Background - Cammy/Street Fighter IV

But this time it's actually from my rig...

It was the time trial sections of Blur that convinced me to get a controller. Even with repeated efforts, it (seemed) impossible to get through one section in under 14 seconds.

I went and bought a controller and got under the magic time in my first or 2nd attempt.

But really, it makes sense - you don't drive a car by putting the steering on full lock repeatedly or jamming the throttle to the floor (or not at all).

You could have bought a decent air cooler for a fraction of the cost if temperature is the issue (mine keeps the 920 in a pretty good range).

Ah well, you pay your money, you take your choice. Just make sure you get a lot of USB 3 stuff, eh?

I don't buy many games a year aside from those that really interest me or I'm confident that I'll like. Otherwise, Steam sales are an ideal point to take a risk - It got me into Saints Row when the SR3 was 75% off (I later bought SR2) and Alan Wake was a good use of £7.

Sure, there are games I've barely touched (Metro 2033, LA Noire), but generally I've played them long enough to get some value out of them and make a judgement.

Dishonoured, Tomb Raider and Hitman: Absolution are all games I've picked up this time around. I've yet to install any of them, primarily because of the hot weather and having to leave my PC on to install any of them, which would make my house even hotter. But frankly, as long as I play each one for at least 3 hours, I'm happy.

There will be bad days when you buy something you don't like, but at least it will be cheap and not full price (Yeah, thanks for being rubbish, SupCom 2). There will also be glorious days when you buy something that grabs you that you don't put down (Super Street Fighter IV for me, £3.74, nearly 20 hours of play...).

So really, there is only one rule:

Ensure you have enough free time to at least give every game you try a decent chance!

This is what I use on my desktop (but print screened on my laptop since it's easier!):

Background - Cammy/Street Fighter IV

It's a screenshot from SFIV (as you've guessed) that I've edited slightly.
