From the games ive played I would say its dreamcast level... But I mean Resident Evil looks sick, its just the launch line up so w/e.. Games will probably look alot better.. I would say well be seeing things that end up looking better than gamecube games pretty soon.. Ocarina looks that way from what ive seen

I think this nails it, maybe further down the line we'll start to see more GC like games, but i have a feeling some things will look awesome and concessions will be made everywhere else.

In multiplayer I have it maxxed with a 6870 and find it playable. I havnt tried turning AA on throught he console yet so i might take it down to very high and turn on low AA and see if that looks better.

DX12 wont be coming out before this fall so my recommendation is to at least wait for price drops. More than likely if you upgrade now you will kick yourself this fall when AMD and nvidia both launch their new cards. There is also a posibility for something like the gtx 285 to come out now in the form of a 585. I just dont see there being enough of a performance upgrade for it to be worth it this generation.

[QUOTE="WWIAB"]I think alot of the hate for pilotwings was due to the missions length, in terms of structured gameplay and a simple playthrough, 2 hours was quoted...dzimm

These days it seems that people have this idea that if you've played a game through from beginning to end at least once then you've "beaten" it, and it's time to move on to the next game. It's almost like they reject the idea of playing a game multiple times to derive more enjoyment out of it. They want a game that will last them 10- to 20-hours that has a definite conclusion, and then they're off to Gamestop to trade it in for the next one.

I feel like not only is this true but it used to be either the game was quick to finish and you could enjoy it after all you wanted, Starfox 64, or was well over 20 hours,Mario 64. Now most games last 10-20 hours, most on the shorter side, and everyone is willing to spend $60 on them without question.

[QUOTE="Limp_Laky"]

Overclocked my AMD Phenom 2 965 to 3.8ghz today with a voltage increase. Had previously had it up to 3.6 ghz. Thinking about putting nicer fans on my 212+ and seeing if I can hit 4ghz, if anyone knows how common a 4.0 on a 965 is let me know!

Elann2008
From what I've seen and read, it isn't TOO common. It depends on the batch you got. My 965 BE is a wimp. It needs way too much juice to even get it up to 4.0. I'm okay with just 3.6Ghz for now.

How much power did you have to throw in it to get to 4.0? I'm at 1.425 now, I cant go any higher without passing 62 C though so I need to replace those fans like I said if I want to go higher.

ya the sandy bridge is amazing, if you overclock it you will see a long happy life out of it. As for the graphics card. If you are looking into the 68xx series and are thinking about the holidays, that is perfect. If AMD follows how ATI did things we should see the first 7000 series cards starting mid autumn and that should drop the prices of all the 6000 series to amazing levels. You may even be able to go the 78xx series for what the 68xx series is now. (or nvidia's cards, you never can predict exactly who will be the better buy).

I was wondering what everyone has accomplished with overclocking. Anything goes, CPU, GPU and whatever else you want!

Fry's electronics as well. Dont go to best buy unless you can get them to price match down, they have gpus up to $100 over what they should be.
