Regarding CoD: I can't remember the name of a single character in any of the series, or a defining characteristic of any of them. Nor can I really remember any particular storyline. What I do remember is some of the set pieces and gameplay. So for me anyway, CoD has NEVER been strong on narrative or character development and the emotional attachment/investment that would supposedly develop from that.
At this point, I would only buy GTAV on PC at launch if they don't charge full price for it. If they charge full price, I would wait for a sale. Already own it for 360 and can't really justify shelling out yet another $60+ for game I already own. All that said, it would still be an inevitable (if not immediate) purchase.
Great show Cam. The mere idea of actual cloaking technology is amazing! Sadly, I fear that world military powers would monopolize it for their own use... Though to be honest, other than the "cool" factor, I am hard pressed to come up with many legitimate civilian applications for such technology. I also wanted to say that I appreciate that you include user comments at the end of the video that bring up interesting points and encourage more mature discourse on Gamespot forums (something that is sorely needed).
My thoughts on DRM: It gets hacked. Usually quite easily and quite quickly. So absolutely NO piracy is avoided but now the publishers have incurred extra development costs into dedicating resources into DRM, which get passed down to their customers. Moreover, their legitimate customers who actually paid for the product now have to deal with this DRM while those with illegitimately obtained copies actually get the better user experience overall. Seems like a completely flawed system to me created mostly to appease the irrational fears of shareholders with no real benefits.
Kinect: I was honestly on board the kinect train when it first came out for the 360. The idea of a Minority Report style of interaction excited me. But then no games made good use of it and no games have really justified its forced inclusion with the Xbone since then. MS would do itself a favor by selling a cheaper XBone without Kinect that could then use more hardware resources to push gaming further.
Watch Dogs: Uplay sucks. A lot. Uplay AND Steam at the same time is just nonsensical and unnecessary to the extreme. IF (and it's a strong IF) I purchase this game at all I will likely find some sort of Uplay removal hack to avoid dealing with that BS and the so-called "services" that Ubi mentioned.
