I wish the report would have included numbers for the sale of PC components and not just pre-built desktops and laptops in order to give a more complete picture of the market. To me it only makes sense that the market segments this report looked at are in decline; as others have mentioned, it is less expensive (and more fun) to build your own PC and the vast majority of previous laptop owners are better served by tablets for their day to day usage.
@EXODYS Just started playing it on PC and have to agree. The vast open areas, storyline and beauty of the game are all marred by frustrating controls and HUD. Considering playing with an xbox controller to see if its any better, which is really sad. I just don't understand why they felt the need to change up DA: Origins controls so dramatically; it worked so well. Not to mention that the "Tactical" camera is such a joke that it's almost pointless.
This console generation's hardware is terribly weak and appears to have already nearly reached the limits of its rather mediocre capabilities. $50 off is definitely not enough to make me want to purchase one, especially given the lack of exclusives worth playing.
I'm of the mind that there's room for all types of games.Whether they favor story, gameplay or try to balance both, having variety and choice can only strengthen the medium as a whole. It's a shame, however, that the industry uses their marketing budgets to push/hype certain types of games
@gottago42 That's a little besides the point. If the PS4 was truly incapable of running the game at a higher res/frame rate then that would be one thing, but intentionally downgrading features to match another system for the sake of "parity" to avoid "debates and stuff" is rather idiotic and justifiably aggravating.
@Xristophoros Agreed. I came to the same conclusion after Ubi intentionally nerfed the PC version of Watch Dogs by disabling already existing features for the sake of cross-system parity. It of course didn't help that I also found the game to be rather boring and repetitive. It will likely be the last Ubi game I purchase, unless they make some serious changes in their company policies and design philosophies.
@4mnesiac @Chris_Watters @KillaGinjaNinja lol well I was taking a bit of a jab at both of them but I still love you Chris :) It was a.. Love jab? Hmm... That doesn't sound right; will need to work on that
