Ubisoft has been absolutely consistent in their whole 'say one thing and do another' strategy of late. Maybe they think they have Jedi mind powers or something... "uplay isn't DRM... You like uplay... uplay is a great online service...". However they must be unskilled because I still feel punished every time uplay launches or, for example, when I wanted to play Watch Dogs the day of its release but couldn't because uplay gave up the ghost and decided IdontPlay.

Once again, an indie game that could easily run not only on previous gen consoles but previous previous gen consoles, 2 multiplats that look better on PC, and one niche driving game. I really don't yet see a compelling reason to jump on the new console bandwagon. If I ever do buy a new console it will be after at least one price drop and a significant number of worthwhile exclusives become available. Until then I'll stick to playing the multiplats on my system of choice: the PC.

@SPBoss I have a preference for PC as well, and like you I do enjoy some of the console exclusives. However, since good exclusives don't come out nearly often enough to justify buying a new console at or near launch, I wait not only for a few exclusives to hit the market but also for a console price drop. In the meantime I enjoy the multiplats on my platform of choice.

Other than Infamous, it looks like all the other games mentioned could easily run not only on last gen consoles but also on last last last gen consoles. I get that they're good games... but I'm not particularly compelled to buy a brand new console to play games my smart phone could probably run. I have yet to see a game truly leverage "next gen" hardware and until such games exist, there is no reason to get a new console.

P.S. Watchdogs is bland and uninteresting to me, even bordering on boring at times with some of the missions. I think I understand where that "it feels to ubisofty" comment comes from.

@thermalmotion Well if sources are to be believed, Battlefield Hardline is going to be SWAT themed rather than military themed. But admittedly, it is a rather arbitrary distinction.

I have a gut feeling the The Order will look stunning and will try to maximize the graphical potential of the PS4, but will likely be rather generic and lackluster gameplay-wise.

I don't think that the success or failure of the Kinect is tied to whether it is unbundled from the system, but rather to whether MS can produce compelling reasons to use one (like some good, non-dance based games maybe?), which it has failed to do adequately thus far.

I'm not really big on consoles but if I were to purchase one, it would still be a PS4. Firstly, the bad taste from MS' previous policies is still present and the fact that they are removing a paywall to access things I can ALREADY access for free through a myriad of different devices isn't changing my inclinations. Secondly, games run better on PS4 for what will be the same price. Lastly, and arguably most importantly, the PS4 has really gained a lot of momentum and has the biggest user base which means that people's friends are statistically more likely to own a PS4. Being able to play with friends is pretty much the biggest selling point of them all when selecting a console to purchase. I believe MS will have a hard time turning this situation around.
