I am sick of hearing this crap. DNF was a good game.
Besides Gearbox Software did NOT make DNF, 3D Realms and Triptych Games did. Plus Gearbox has proven themselves all ready with Borderland, Brothers in Arms series, Half-Life: Blue Shift, and Half-Life: Opposing Force.
RE 5 had co-op however playing the game solo turned RE 5 into a virtual baby sister simulator thanks to the fact that Sheva was sucidical like a lemming. This is not bad on the lower difficulties, but on professional it was a nightmare especially the first Wesker fight.
Then there was the mercenaries bit where Capcom delayed because "file" size on the disk, and it easily could have been on the disc (proof: Gold Edition) and most likely was and the download was a key to unlock it.
But the biggest part is that RE's game play just does not work in multiplayer. Having to stand still to shoot was not only archaic but absurd.
Not every games needs to be ruined by MP. Look at Bioshock. First one was great, but the second one was awful. Or even better example would be RE 5.
Xenoblade Chronicles is my favorite game of the year so far, and most likely will be my GoTY and yet it has no MP. I have clocked over 70 hours while a game that has MP usually lasts me around 6 hours.
Also I enjoyed Vanquish a lot more than I did with Gears of War, and I also put more time into Vanquish.
