They did this with the PS2. This is going to be classic.

This was the LONGEST generation to date. The current consoles were announced nearly 3 years into the life spans of their predecessors. Seven years and we are just now getting HINTS of new consoles. This next generation may last as long as the Atari Generation. (20+ years).

Really looking forward to this

GTA V's sales will NOT be affected by next generation consoles. I highly doubt that 20 Million+ anxious gamers will pass over a game just because it's not on the PS4/720. Pokemon Black/White came out a month before the 3DS and sold perfectly.

Personally, I had a better experience with the XBOX 360. No mandatory game-installs, lively online community, and the games ran quickly and smoothly.

...That experience was short-lived, for my XBOX suffered from the RROD less than 2 years after I purchased the console..

Coincidentally, college started, and I lost interest in gaming outside of my high laptop I purchased in 2009...

I recently purchased a PS3, and is loving every bit of it. They need to improve on the online community. Package headsets and free Playstation Plus subscriptions, Sony. They also need to give us an incentive to installing games. It's more of a memory consumption opportunity for me, as I see no real difference in waiting 20 minutes for an update or installation when I can't even run the game on the console without a disc. Just rid the feature all together, please.

It will take a while for the Wii U to gather momentum, just as the original Wii did. However, Nintendo believes they can pull off the same strategy they implemented in 2006.

....Release a console with last generation appeal with a new way to play games of said generation. The Wii gave us a new perspective of playing PS2/XBOX/Gamecube titles. With the XBOX 360 having Kinect, and PS3 having "Move", this generation has already been introduced with new "Gimmicks". XBOX 360's "Xbox Surface/Smart Glass" in the works. The PS3 extended their "Remote Play/Location Free" services to the PSVITA.

How will the Wii U gamepad serve as the better alternative?

I believe the Wii U will win because of it's simplicity. SmartGlass, and playing PS3 games through a Vita requires time, money, and basic computer knowledge. The Wii U requires non of these. Children love it. Parents love it.

Generation II actually skipped the GBA entirely. This may be the same case here. With DS backwards compatibility, a 3DS Ruby/Sapphire remake could very well work alongside Generation VI.

Vita was a failure, Move was a failure, Home was a failure, the list goes on.

Sony, the Playstation Brand is the reason Microsoft and Nintendo resorted to risky and creative decisions to bring consumers to their products. You were the company that nearly made Nintendo go BANKRUPT with the N64 and Gamecube. WHY are you trying to copy them? Stay true to the core gaming audience and loosen the focus on casual gaming. That audience most likely owned Playstation 2's before switching to 360's and Wiis. Terrible marketing strategies and arrogant decisions also contributed to the SCEAs turmoil. Building a cost efficient system whose architecture is friendly to game developers and spending the rest on hype would have saved the PS3. The Playstation Vita was basically their attempt at breaking into market dominated by Smartphones and Tablets.....at least Nintendo was smart enough to brand the 3DS as a standalone toy for the children.

The console was only out for a couple of months. The Original PSP didn't get a price cut until the release of the "Slim and Lite" package in 2007. This system will do fine. The 3DS will do fine. The Wii U, and Nintendo will do fine. We are so used to accelerated lifestyles and expectations to the point where we literally over analyze every situation.

(I.E Nintendo posts low sales and loss in stock when NEW CONSOLE IS COMING AROUND THE CORNER AND ITS THE END OF Wii's LIFESPAN= Nintendo is dead.)

...Also, they probably made the system hackable to avoid problems such as the PSN shutdown. If anyone can hack the system, threats such as Anonymous will have little to no significance. Kinda smart.

Hopefully this will work. This is an inspiring story for small business owners and the advantage of Social Media. Giant corporations will never give concepts such as this a second look. Is there a way you can donate more money into this?
