i have a samsung 840 and the software for it updated along with the firmware. the new software tells me my system doesnt support sata 3.

i had a feeling the ssd wasnt as fast as it should. my motherboard is an asus m4a88td which has 6gbps sata3 and i swapped the cables to make sure it was a sata 3 cable.

can anyone help me figure out why im not getting full performance?

Like gp19 says, go into the BIOS and set the SSD to run as AHCI.

And there are no SATA-3 cables.  They're all the same.  It's just a trick of the trade to be able to ask better prices for so-called SATA-3 cables... I've got 6-year old run-of-the-mill generic SATA cables that came with an ASUS LGA 775 mobo and they treat a SATA-3 SSD just like any other SATA cable...

Well one thing is for sure, this card can push my HD 380 Pro for sure. The amp in this card has some power...I have to keep the volume low or it will blow my ears out.

Yep, that card has some pretty decent chipsets... Not na fanboy or anything, but the "Z" series has put Creative back on the map and in a more than solid position too.

this one any good

850W Modular Powercool Black PSU 80 Plus 12cm Fan SATA Power Supply,80+ Dual 12V V2.2 High Efficiency,1 year warranty

and it comes with

prodimage.ashx?Id=491892&maxwidth=815&bl

Now am i rite in saying that each of the two PCIe cables has two sets of 6+2 pins connectors?

DJ8WORK

That one would do fine, though it has only 4 SATA connectors, which is a touch thin.  Of course, it still leaves room for one ROM and 3 hard drives... depending on if you use only SAATA devices...

But the PSU is okay, both qua watt as amps.

Would these psu spec's be enough to power my rig

http://www.box.co.uk/system/prodimage.ashx?Id=491899&maxwidth=815&blank=true

DJ8WORK

22 amps on the 12 volt rail is roughly 265 watt.  Your cards have a max power consumption of around 130 watts, that's 260 watts total. To stay on the safe side, look for a PSU with at least 30 to 35 amps on the 12-volt rail(s).

[QUOTE="mastershake575"]

Man this stuff is crazy. I'm waiting like 1.5-2 years for nice 1440/1600p monitors (something simliar to a D Ultrasharp) to get under $350 and meanwhile people are already talking about 4K and 12K

DJ_Headshot

...()...just need the 4K displays to drop in price and gpu to get stronger.

And a hefty pay-raise...

Why, I have tested many games on www.systemrequirementslab.com and thay haved passed my PC and GPU. I can also play Crysis 2.zubair30

Since you tested some games, and they work, why ask?

You can always play any game on any computer.  It all depends on the resolution you play at and the in-game settings you use.  Being a gamer myself, I take high in-game settings on a 1920x1080 resolution as a standard.  That 5450 can't handle those settings.

You probably play at a lower resolution with low in-game settings...

Hi Friends, I want to know that is my PC good for latest games? My setup is: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 or E8500 @ 3.0 GHz (6 MB Cache) 2 GB RAM ATI Radeaon 5450 HD with 1 GB Memory & Shader Model 5.0 Windows 8 Can I play every latest game?zubair30

That CPU is okay-ish (the E8400 one), but that HD5450 is a no-go for getting into the latest games.  Even at low settings.

I doubt there would be any issues at all.

A 7850 2GB would work perfectly fine on 450 watts just so you know.

AMD655

Depends on how old the system --and more particular the PSU-- is.  The older a power supply, the lesser the percentage of its advertised power gets...

Besides, it's not the wattage that is important, but the amperage.

An i7 920 needs around 100/110 watt alone, so that leaves about 350 watt for the card.  Since the TDP for an 7850 is about 110 watt, that 450watt PSU should be able to handle things, despite having a few years on its calender.
