@edgework: Not being able to upload/change avatar/background picture/user picture/reply in the forums/post to your own wall with Firefox aren't "rough edges" but proof someone didn't do a proper job. Harsh, maybe. True, yes.

Have to use Chrome to be able to use Gamespot.

When using Firefox, try using Chrome. Lots of stuff not working under Firefox,I can't even write in a reply box here with the latter... Chrome seems to work just fine on the renewed Gamespot...

A chance for you all to jerk over how intellectually and morally superior you all are, or just a chance for a bunch of rich, white, suburban, white, straight, able-bodied kids to feel persecuted? Lol at either of the two... you're fighting for nothing worthwhile.Drasonak

There's a third possibility: a place to get away from fools who are so blind in their beliefs that they have a misplaced sense of moral righteousness they feel they must ram down every unsuspecting bystander's throat.

I came here mostly because Zeviander was making misogynistic statements earlier, yet has the audacity to go on his crusade against religion. Do you think abolishing religion will suddenly improve things? Do you not understand how complex the situation really is? Yes, it does some bad, but also some good. The thing is, there's more pressing matters to attend to if you really care about this world getting on the right track as much as you all claim.Drasonak

You don't seem to understand that the complexity of the situation has come to be mostly thanks to manipulation by politically inspired religious leaders.  Organized religion as we know it came into existence thanks to a politician (Roman Emperor Constantine) who saw bread in having one religion for his crumbling Empire.  That's what started the Roman Catholic Church.

You all bash religion under the guise of it being for humanitarian purposes, as if you think state control or what-have-you is entirely dependent on it. Yeah right. Do you all really believe it's that simple? And do you really expect me to think you care as much of a **** about people when you're all so anti-feminist (because you only know strawman feminist arguments)?Drasonak

I personally bash organized religion because it is thus far the greatest evil Humanity has encountered.  One of the purposes of religion is the de-humanization of people.  It's not for nothing they always speak in terms of "sheep" and "flock".  Calling atheists anti-feministis a bit of a stretch, in light of the trouble religion went through to abolish women from their entire history, thanks to the jealousy of Petrus for the affection Jesus Of Nazareth had for one Maria Magdalena whom Jesus was preparing to become his successor.

I think you all need to get over yourselves. You are not particularly enlightened individuals for pointing out the inconsistencies in a 2000 year old text written by a couple of average guys. I'm an atheist, too; I just don't base my character around it like it's something to be proud of. Stop defining yourselves this way and actually do something important for once in your lives... You know, something that matters?Drasonak

The sad fact is that the "inconsistencies" you talk about are exactly what religion tends to wipe under the carpet.  And those texts weren't *written* by "a couple of average guys" but *translated* from Hebrew to Latin and then to English by monks and priests.

Abd why should we stop defining ourselves as atheists when you define yourself in the same way?  Do you have the unique right to call yourself an atheist?

You don't base your character around atheism, just like you don't base your character around mathematics.  In fact, you don't base your character around anything since your character is formed by your experiences.  And am I proud to be an atheist?  Nope.  It's just the way I turned out to be:  empty of all religious feelings thanks to the history of a church which has been written in blood; murder, rape and pillaging, false promises, revisionism and knowingly lying and which despite all those proven facts is welcomed everywhere with the highest egards...

Tl;dr: You're either pseudo-intellectuals or have a persecution complex. Either way, you should probably get over this idea that you'll all be accomplishing something by wiping out religion. I'm an active humanitarian and feminist; I know the self-centered elitists who do it for their own ego rather than the good of the world.

Drasonak
Ask the tens of thousands who have been burned at the stake as heathens about persecution complexes.  I don't want to wipe out religion.  I want to wipe out those who misuse religion for their own agenda.  About inflated egos, I fear you'll have to build an extension to your house to fit yours in.

And you don't have a clue what feminism or humanitarianism mean...

Nope. I hate auto adjust settings.

Barujin

Doesn't matter that you hate it. What matters is if the monitor has such a function and if it might have been turned on when you adjusted the settings :)

*facepalm* I was telling you that all settings are on manual. In fact, it doesn't have any adjustments for the backlight.

Facepalm?

You didn't say anything about manual settings nor the monitor's functions...

Anyway, only time I have had issues with the backlight of a monitor changing was with an Acer model which was suceptible to temperature changes and started flickering when I left the door open in winter...  Flickering stopped when I closed the door again and temps rose to normal room level.

Good luck...

I have been thinking about getting a SSD for my pc as an upgrade. Never had one before, so I don't really know where to start, other than newegg of course lol. I'm currently using a cheap 500g HDD. I heard SSD can make boot times faster and even better performance throughout. What do you guys think? Can I reformat everything, use the ssd as a boot into windows and still use my HDD to keep data?davi21a

Solid State Drives have no moving parts (they work like flash memory) so boot-up and start-up times are drastically faster, as is browing on the net.  I run a 120GB SSD for the OS and a few programs.  Games are sitting on a 2TB SATA-3 7200rpm HDD.  Everything works flawlessly that way.

Could be that the monitor has an auto-adjust setting which kicks in from time to time. If so, uncheck the function in the menu.

[QUOTE="blaznwiipspman1"]

which idiotic site recommended that build?  An SSD, no HDD, a weak gpu like the 6670.  Im curious as to how that computer filled up a $400 budget.  Max id put it at retail is $300

toughtrasher

I think it's a solid deal for $400, although the gfx card could do with some upgrading, but in all I'd buy it

Of course you think so... that's prolly why you sport an Alienware review link in yer sig...

Judging by your reactions, that link is the only reason why you pop-up everywhere ;)

[QUOTE="AtariKidX"]

i have many movies,T.V programs, music and many other files on my 2TB HDD and i'm looking for a good software that can scan my hard drive files and create a index with all the files the HDD have.Do you know any....??

AtariKidX

For music files, there's OrangeCD.  Not free but a mighty interesting program which has a lot of possibilities.

Slightly less impressive but easy to use is Uberview.  has only one version ever released, but it works like a charm.  Also connects with WinAmp when you have that player installed.

For free to use movie organizers, have a look roundabout here...

I just want the actual file names from the HDD as a text file like a list. I don't care if the result is a Word .doc file or Excel .xls file, I just want my file names as text. I don't want to open any of the files, only save the names in a document. Any suggestions?

Nope.

For a simple rendition of music files in text or html I used to use a small app from a guy called Andreas Andersson, called Andersson's Audiolist.  But his page has vanished and the Audiolist only recognized mp3 files.

Personally, I've got over 15,000 singles, maxis and full CDs and around 300 BR movies on my PC and I've got full notepad and Word lists of the lot, but I've made them manually and keep 'em up-to-date by simply adding a title everytime I add a file...

For Windows XP there used to be something called 'File List' to make text files from what's on a HDD but I've never used that.

I'm sure there must be apps out there which can make a text file of what's on a hard drive, but maybe you could ask Google...

*EDIT*

Here's a step-by-step explanation on how to make a list of all files on a hard drive using the command prompt.
