Its been going on since the begining of man and it will still go on, thats mother nature, using that logic then hunting would have never been existant. Sure, if you want to learn how to aim you can go shoot at a range, but if you want to learn how to survive you have to learn how to harvets a dead animal, as gross at that sounds. You just contradicted yourself, if mother nature can govern itself why then the excess of humans? also we are part of nature so have you maybee thought that we are a part of the population control, we have to have a part, we cant just let 'mother nature' do everything. You act like improving skills are bad, Knowing how to survive in the wild, thats bad? knowing how to shoot something to sustain your life? Hunting has nothing to do with modern weapons, I dont know why your bringing that into the argument, In no way do I advocate automatic weapons, those things are just useless.
To answer your question, Technology and medical advancements have made human lives expandable thus increasing our population and imbalancing our birth to death ratio. Not saying medication is a bad thing or extended life is bad either, Im just answering your question. Now then, improving your skills is not bad, thats what shooting ranges and other inanimate objects are there for. Improving your skills on an Innocent Creators is however terrible. Im going to practice my sniping skills, humans are quick moving targets,why dont I just practice on them. Nothing wrong with improving my skill right? you dont have to shoot a deer to know how to survive in the wild. There many programs like the boyscouts where children and young adults can go to learn how to survive the wild and use nature to their advantage. You want to know how to harvest a dead animal for food, thats fine, you kill it cook it and eat it, it wasnt a waste of life, you kill it for the hell of it...theres my problem. Why did I bring hunting up in my argument? Well thats easy. While Im not a big fan of guns and while I do believe theres should be restrictions and limitations I also believe they serve as a valuable tool for a few things. Hunting is one of them, as well as protection. I dont understand why civilians need silencers, laser pointers or auto/semi automatic rifles sold to them. I do believe that it is ok to have a rifle or a handgun for hunting and protection respectively. However when it comes to hunting, killing for sport should be illegal, killing for survival should not.
I know that, but still, if mother nature is powerfull enough to control populations should mother nature know how to get passed that? you act like im saying killing for the hell of it is right...im not, im simply telling you that hunting for food isnt the only reason to hunt. theres population control,and learning how to harvest, and that and doing it for food gos hand in hand. also,i was asking why you brought up modern weapons in the argument, not hunting....im pretty sure its obvious the main argument is about hunting. I want to make it clear that I never implied people need silencers and they deffinatley dont need any auto matic weapons.
