I thought the footage of a few people gathering around a tiny screen looked silly. It would be very uncomfortable after a few minutes.

Personally, I don't think I would use it as a portable system. I'm always worried about damaging expensive tech, or maybe having it stolen.

I don't think I would actually take advantage of the main selling points. However, it would essentially just be a Wii U 2 for me, which isn't a bad thing really; since there were plenty of great first-party games on the Wii U. The support for the console does seem promising for third-party games too.

I'd also be skeptical about how easy it is to detach the parts. It's possible they could be quite flimsy and break easily; maybe feeling a bit loose when attached.

I think you are way out with the pricing (unless you know something I don't). I paid £329.99 for my Wii U (Zombi U package) on release. Since it's very similar in terms of having a GamePad, but having the power in the tablet rather than a base console, plus a higher definition display; I can only see it being significantly more than £330.

By the time the Wii U got a decent game library, there were price cuts and the operating system was vastly improved. I basically paid an inflated price for no benefit. The Switch has more promise than the Wii U but I don't plan on purchasing one on launch. I'm interested in getting one eventually, but I think I'll sit back and see what happens.

Back in the day, games were ridiculously hard, so often I only saw a small portion of the game. Cheats allowed you to see more of it, either by making the game easier, or giving you the option of choosing the level.

I think these days, that's not as much of an issue. Like you say though, things are now DLC or are left to the community for mods.

I'm trying to think of games I did use cheats in, but struggling to recall them. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Game Gear is one I always think of. I learned about that from some kids I made friends with whilst on holiday. I was well excited to learn a cheat! It allowed me to play all the other levels I had never seen before!

FIFA 98 had a cheat where the players had big heads which always made me laugh. Enabling invisible walls always made things interesting too.

I do remember buying magazines with thick cheat books as a free gift. Even if you didn't have the games, it was quite interesting to see what was available.

I think associating toys to specific gaming brand like Skylanders/Infinity etc is successful in the short term but eventually, the popularity wanes and people move onto a new fad.

I think Nintendo's Amiibo have a longer staying power because they aren't associated with a specific gaming brand and can theoretically be used across many games. Also, I think Amiibo appeal to people that just like the figures (people love Link, Mario etc), whereas I think Skylanders don't have that appeal. I am surprised that Disney are pulling out so early though because I think those characters do have the appeal.

Also, I think Sony have the potential to sell really well from the franchises you mentioned.

Making films based on mobile games sounds silly to me. There's been so many films based on console games that have been failures so why would mobile games succeed when they have barely any plot? I guess they did make a Battleship film which is supposed to be based on the board game...so your ideas actually sound logical.

If Angry Birds is successful, they could follow it up with Angry Birds Star Wars.

I haven't played that many mobile games, but I have to say "Galaxy on Fire" sounds like a good movie title to me.
