Mhm. That sucks for those people who got the basic and can't afford more storage.. I guess.. I really don't see why people get the basic, though. Especially not if they're serious gamers. Unless they care a ridiculous amount about what color their console is.

A 500GB External HDD costs £30, lower than a price of a new game, if you own a Wii U, you can afford external storage.

NeoGaf is owned by Sony. I wouldn't believe anything they say. Last rumors I heard is final XB1 devkits were sent out sometime at the end of Aug. There have also been rumors of PS4 retail hardware overheating and crashing. Might be why they haven't sent any of them to retail with kiosks yet. Time will tell. The next year should be interesting.

Do you even read or you just go full damage control mode without reading.?

MS is admitting faulty hardware they did not deny it,they claimed it is some stress test units..

I read it. NeoGaf is still being paid for by Sony. The story doesn't change that. Yes, I know they are saying the units were stress test units which makes this whole thread irrelevant. Every hardware analyst who've looked at the XB1 has said there's no way it will overheat. The fan that's in it is almost 1/3 the size of the unit. lol!! How come no one has seen the inside of the PS4 yet. LOL!!

thats not the XB1 in that picture, it's a 360s, i know i took mine apart the other day to clean the fan, the Fan shroud is missing in that picture.

Xbone uses that big stealth fan to fly around like a spy drone, then it shoot ads in your head with the IR blaster as you sleep

That is an Xbox One and the great cooling and external PSU means it can be overclocked, where the PS4 cannot as it was designed to run the stock speeds with no overhead.

So in theory Microsoft could clock their GPU to 1ghrz which I believe is around the max setting for it, the CPU who knows? Probably 2.3ghrz or something.

Just buy an SD card or HDD....

What is the issue?

The good thing about the Wii U is it lets you externally improve the storage unlike other consoles.

One game runs at 900p, people are acting like all of them are....

That one game isn't even on PS4 so there is no comparison.

Games like Forza 5 are 1080p at 60fps, I don't see anyone saying the PS4 sucks because Killzone SF is 1080 at 30FPS........ you cannot compare two different games that aren't on each system.

There have been lots of third party games where they run the same on each system at the same framerate and resolution...

Lets just wait and see shall we?

There used to be a time when every console was different, different architectures, they looked drastically different, controlled differently, had different games and even the OS had different features to each other. Now however they're all trying to be the same, even Microsoft have gone back on the stuff they wanted to do because people were complaining it wasn't like everything else.

Essentially I look at the PS4 and Xbox One and I see the same console, they'll both have exactly the same games. Even their exclusives (while Sony's has been better in the past) are the same, you'll get a cover based TPS on both, you'll get some quirky indie titles on both, Halo vs Killzone, Forza vs GT and Kinect vs the Eye thingy. Sony have lost their interesting first party line up and really it's turned into a pile of generic crap I can get anywhere.

The only thing I could possibly get excited for that is different is Microsoft are focusing on their new and improved Kinect. If that works out this time it could be a real game changer, sadly though I doubt Microsoft have the talent, they never have in the past, in fact they've destroyed anything they've touched like Rare or Lionhead.

Ultimately the only games I've ended up excited for are multiplatform and tbh I can just play them on my PC. There really isn't anything in the first year of these consoles that looks remotely interesting that I wont be able to get on my PC or there isn't a better alternative. Like people go on about GT and Forza, but those games are shit compared to the PC sims that are out there.

The only console I've ended up excited for is the Wii U and I never thought I would be, I've never been a Nintendo fan in the past. I got a 3DS recently because I used to have a Gameboy for Pokemon Red & Blue back in the 90s. I wanted to go on a Nostalgia trip with Pokemon X&Y and I ended up being hooked on so many games that are amazing. Then I see all the things they're doing with the Wii U and it's like "a console with it's own identity!" and it's one where I cannot get those games anywhere else.

So I'm just gonna end up having a Wii U and a PC because this new shift to using PC based x86 architecture for the PS4 and Xbox One will just make everything even worse. I want to go back to a time where each console was different, now this gen it'll be why do consoles even exist? Might as well just have a PC and surely now these consoles will be so easy to emulate as well.

I cannot get excited for the power of the hardware either, we're just about to have a 5.6Tflop GPU launched from AMD with the Mantle API and the Xbox One and PS4 are 1.3-1.8Tflops......... already they're dated.

Nothing wrong with the scores, just peoples mindsets and how they think anything other than a 9 is shit.

All these games are great (which is 8) but I wouldn't say any of them are anything groundbreaking.

Just got the beta, wow. To me the graphics look exactly like BF3. I can't tell any difference. I am sure there are minor ones but in action playing, looks the same to me. I was going to buy it as soon as it came out, now I will wait for more maps and a sale. It feels like a map pack for BF3.

Lighting is the most noticeable difference. Like BF3, I looks great even on LOW settings. Particle effects, revamped water physics, much better destruction (you can make a hole in the ground and watch vehicles fall into it haha), and even the sound design is better. If you're looking at BF4 only on the surface but not at its structure, then you'll just think it looks like BF3. It's miles better, imo.

They said it is 2000 people per cont and 6000 per server, I'm not seeing that, I'm seeing small boring fights, people are too spread out.

Don't start the game with a 360 controller plugged in, it makes it crash on startup!

Wasdie

You'll often get battles of a few hundred vs. hundred. Any more than that becomes an unbearable spam.

You just have to learn where the fight is going to be. That's probably the hardest part of the entire game.

I loved Planetside but Planetside 2 just isn't fun, they've spread everyone out too much, the base designs are too open, the capture mechanics suck and you can only play during peak time because they went for the dumb server system again.
