I feel the same way in regards to remasters and remakes. The source material should always be taken into account, especially if, as you said, mechanics, gameplay and the like are left untouched.
I bet any reviewer at GameSpot could eat a pb&j sandwich one week, enjoy it, then bash it the next.
As long as it has a subtitle, and not developed by Montreal, we should be fine.
In all seriousness, I loved Inquisition. The characters, the story, the gameplay, it was all superb. So, a Dragon Age 4 that closely mimics that will be an instant buy. I can't wait to see where the narrative goes, especially after Trespasser's ending which, in my opinion, made for one of the best and most heart wrenching endings in a videogame.
@moose3469: I'm honestly surprised they got any Squeenix games in there. Secret of Mana the most surprising, but a nice addition. I'll take that over Chrono Trigger any day of the week, but hey, it'll prolly be moddable, so Chrono Trigger could be added ...y'never know.
I wonder if Nintendo is so deluded that they don't know emulation exists... Star Fox 2 was superb. Not as awesome as the original, but damn good.
That said, the NES Classic wasn't very impressive, but this has a nice collection of games, and I fully expect it to be moddable, as well. So, I'm definitely in for one of the best consoles of all-time. Between this, my PS2 and PS4, I'll be in hog heaven this Fall.
