Yeah, the MP was NOT the reason for the success of the game lol GTA being one of the biggest franchises in the world probably had a little more to do with it. I literally forgot GTA 4 even had MP it was such a minor tacked on inclusion. The game just came out in that era where every game publisher felt the need to have some half baked MP mode.

It wasn't until GTA V that the MP mattered. Even then the game made a bagillion dollars well before the online mode went live. So GTA has never needed MP to be successful.

Neat. 10 games no one will play for a while before eventually being ported to platforms that people might actually play them on.

Yikes. Those tweets are so...ugh. I guess no one ever told them that this has been a thing for...15 years now? A standard feature on most online platforms? I mean most of it is just pretentious but that Peter Ramsey guy needs to chill the **** out over something pretty bloody minor. "designed for the laziest and most tasteless." Calm down weirdo, you're talking about video playback speed. It's not a big deal.

There is no such thing. The only player-friendly monetization is no monetization outside the initial 60 bucks. Also, this is 5 paragraphs that can be boiled down to "it doesn't have loot boxes". Ohhhh wow, congratulations upon clearing the bar of not doing the thing that is borderline illegal and only still possible because gambling laws in most countries were written decades ago. Am I supposed to give you applause for that?

Also, I'll help anyone confused as to what player-friendly even means. It's a propaganda friendly way of saying the devs have a bunch of grinds they've purposefully built into the game specifically designed to entice you to pay. Instead of, you know, just NOT putting those grinds in the game which would ACTUALLY be player-friendly.

That's cute. They seem to think EA isn't going to just tell them to include them in the game whether they like it or not. Seriously has EA published a AAA game in the last few years not completely bogged down in some MT's or live service BS? Why would they suddenly let these developers get away with not having them now? So forgive me if I don't actually believe that by the time this comes out nothing said here will be true.

In terms of the quality of wrestling? The talent today is leagues ahead of what we had back then. Go back and watch a stone cold or rock match, take away the personality and the wrestling is dull.

Also how women are treated now is far better in that they are taken seriously and the talent is actually nurtured and trained to actually WRESTLE. Back then most of them were models first and wrestlers second.

All that said there is a simple reason people look back on those 6 years fondly and it's the personalities and characters. There are a few decent folks in the WWE who can cut a good promo but back then? The whole locker room was chalked full of people who could talk it up with the best of them. They took chances and people were allowed to adlib so their personalities could shine through the scripts. I'm not pretending it was perfect because a lot of it was batcrap insane. That was what made it memorable even when it was terrible.

WWE today is so sanitized and safe. The wrestling can be incredible but when the writing is bad it's not memorably bad like it was back then. They were just throwing crap at a wall to see what stuck back then. Now they just follow a template if they can't think of anything interesting instead of taking a chance and It's just dull and boring. Honestly, even when the stories DO work WWE has a way of dragging anything that works long past the expiration date. That or when they DO have something that's working, but it wasn't manufactured in the writers' room, it's buried and ignored. Nothing happens spontaneously anymore and if it does it's overdone or aborted. I guess what I'm saying is nothing feels "real" anymore. It's just a show now.

That's cute, he thinks it's up to him. My guess is the CEO's will surely take into consideration this mans petty grudge when planning out how to release and sell their game in the future lol Square Enix is a Corporation and if they find it's in their financial best interest to release simultaneously worldwide then they have a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders to do so. Nomura does nothing more then make a product for them and if he becomes more trouble then he's worth they will find someone else to complete the product. So, by all means, keep throwing temper tantrums.

@m4a5: Ya I'm mostly just annoyed for the people that paid ticket prices to see that troll blizzard just did on them. I was never going to play this anyway just because I don't play games on my phone all that much and especially not the F2P ones.

@Cikatriz_ESP: Is that even a controversy? The minute they said "mobile game" we all knew EXACTLY what we were in for. It's half the reason people are pissed because they know what this all means. Also, that quote is pretty much just a yes lol

@Prats1993: Don't forget Bethesda also announced other big games at that conference. Blades was just a bit at the end and even they had the good sense to go "squirrel" and distract the audience with the TES6 logo. Hell even EA didn't flub it this bad when they announced C&C Rivals. That was in the middle of a conference where they were announcing other stuff.
