The pistol from Halo CE... the firing sound still rings in my ears, it's without doubt the most diverse and powerfull weapon for me, because of the addition of zoom.

Don't play Oblivion first thought. It's a mammoth huge game, it will suck all your free gaming time and you won't be playing anything else, believe me ;) I think I'll never finish it really :( You have mainly fps games, I recommend getting Ace Combat 6 as well !

It depends on the game, Oblivion loads about 30% faster if you have a hard drive. Trust me, in that game it's a life saver.

Really? Do you mean the expansion or the original game? Because I don't remember having the choice where to store the game, I have 20 gb HDD.

You're my kind of guy:D (not in a gay way, of course.)

Or like once said in Futurama (Zapp Brannagin) : ''You're a man's man...''

I guess my weakness to Halo came from the books, and only after that by the games :P

I own both Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock. Completed both one time and forgot about them. Halo series is a different story. I played the first Halo 20+ times, most of the time on legendary, and I'm finishing Halo 3 the fifth time now. And that's only single player, I recently bought my XBox 360 and it isn't even connected to net... So yes, Halo series is one of the best, for me at least, while the first part stands beside Half-Life and I consider it to be one of the best FPS games of all time. Halo 1 does what it promises, it evolved the combat and the gameplay, and not the level design was it's key strength. Halo 3 however, improves that gameplay to perfection, nearly gets rid of all mistakes from the first and second part, every component works together like it should (the one it fails, though, is the story, it could be done a lot better, if supported by the books). So like I said, I have other great shooters, but only Halo 3 makes me return to play the single player, over and over again, till I play on legendary difficulty with ease...

The game has a fantastic atmosphere, the dialoges are great and believable, not to mention about the graphical presentation. And like every game with huge exploration potential, the levels get repetitive, but it's undersandable. However, I don't believe the perfomance issues in the game are because XBox 360 limited power. The real party killer are the battles, which realy tend to be frustrating, though fun at times. In the end, it's a thumbs up, I'd give a 9.1 rating if I reviewed it. GOTY? Hard to decide, too tight competition this year :P

Damn, today my XBox 360 froze for the first time, while loading another section of level in HL2. Hope that isn't the first sign of agony...

Gregoroth, I fully agree with you, but with quality materials comes the price, I'm not sure I would pay for another PS3 clone, then. Sorry for your console, with so much care you did it seems unfair you still have problems. But he warping you mentioned could happen onl in certain temperature, I mean it really must reign hell inside that box for the plastic to deform. The carpet of mine is very flat, by the way, I don't understand what posssibly can it do, if the air vents are on the sides and back (I keep my console horizontal)?

About two mounths ago I purchased mine XBox 360. I take it as it is - it's like a PC from hardware standpoint, and with greater perfomance come the heat. Only in this case I do agree that XBox 360 cooling sytems are far worse than those found in laptops or dekstop PCs. So I checked which side the air comes in, and where it comes out. After that I realized that there's no place for XBox360 in cramped places, so I put it on the carpet in my living room. But still that thing overheats, and I'm only playing max 2-3 hours without a break, with air tempeture about 23 degrees Celsius. My question goes to anyone who owns this console, what do you do to prevent it to overheat? Simpliest way would be to shorten your gaming sessions, but I've read for some folks it still didn't help ... So any more tricks from saving XBox a long trip to MS  Thanks!
