Hardware wise they are almost completely alike, Xbox One being only SLIGHTLY less powerful. But for $100 more expensive? That doesn't fly.
And yes, what ThrashMatt26 said, I refer to their fucking up in the policies department. I'll be honest, I still want an Xbox One, I want it to be a good console. But even if they finally do away with the mandatory kinect as well, I still won't buy it.
What Microsoft tried to do has shattered any trust I had in the company. That is trust, not loyalty. Loyalty to a company that cares only about money is insane.
I wish the Xbox One was was good as the 360 or (real) Xbox one (as in the original console) but the fact of the matter is, it's not. Every year I've tried to buy consoles on both sides as to have all my basis covered along with a PC.
Sadly, this generation Microsoft completely fucked up. I despise fanboys on both sides, but I can't help but say this now. I'm sorry Xbox fanboys, but this time Sony has you. The numbers do not lie.
I came into this article hoping it was Microsoft finally understanding and apologizing for all the BS, but instead I see pretty much the same thing that Nintendo said...
Paraphrased: "Our product is amazing with tons of great benefits and features, you just don't understand!"
But... even if it was what I was hoping, Dominos also tried a "We suck and we're sorry" campaign only to re-emerge with an even worse product than before. Microsoft has proved they're pretty good at EA tier failing.
It's sad but I really didn't expect anything else.
@downloadthefile Piracy cannot be stopped. There will always be people who will download whatever they want so they don't have to pay. But like a good number of games there are always "factions" of sorts.
Some pirates pirate games to try before they buy, some want to buy but refuse to until the company changes it's business practices or removes the DRM.
Pirates and their cracks prove DRM doesn't work, so why keep including it when all it does is inconvenience the consumer?
I have bought all of CD Projekt Red's Witcher games, Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto games, etc. But any EA title I have any interest in I straight up pirate because I will NOT support that company.
Some of "us adults" are willing to make a statement in other ways concerning this products even if society looks down upon it and considers it illegal.
