@CaveManCobb @SIDEFX1 It's like you ignored everything that was just said.
It still has to be plugged into the console. A console which runs on a version of windows.
Webcams are very easy to hack and can be turned on remotely from another location. It's unlikely, but this is a problem. Some entry level hacker could turn it back on and get his rocks off to someone's family.
People act like everyone worried about the Kinect is a paranoid conspiracy theorist. People, it's not Microsoft or even the "guvment" that we fear watching or listening to us.
Webcams are notoriously easy to hack for anyone who knows what they're doing on a PC. Even when off, they can be turned on remotely if plugged in. Considering the Kinect still has to be connected for the Xbox One to function correctly, that is what poses a problem.
Have fun being watched and listened to by some pervert with basic hacking skills.
I refer to the DRM as a whole and not just one side of it. Now it is purely up to the Devs or publishers, but previously the console itself contained it's form of DRM.
You had the 24 check ins every day, the Kinect being required to be on at all times, etc.
It wasn't about just the games, but the console as well.
Brand loyalty is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of. Why ANYONE would swear loyalty to a corporation is beyond me.
Trust and respect? Most definitely. But loyalty?
(This is an extremist example, but just making a point.)
God forbid the Xbox Infinity (should such a console ever exist) requires a microchip implanted for the user to make it function. Would these fools defend even that?
