Think about it! When has the anouncment of DLC for a game once changed the way you go about making a purchase? If you ask me, I think the majority of most companies waste A LOT of money paying people to come up with stupid ideas. Sure it makes them money but I think it hurts the true final product of a game. I think DLC in general is over rated and it will eventually hit its tipping point and lose it's flare, if it even has as much as it seems to have....I've bought DLC, don't get me wrong, but its getting pretty silly the way DLC is being pushed in the market. DLC seems to get more focus then the actual game itself these days with anouncments of DLC even before a game hits store shelves!

The last DLC I think I bought was the lost and damned GTAIV. I've bought a couple map packs in the past for Halo3 and CoD4 and I think I bought almost everything downloadable for Oblivion (the only DLC well worth every penny in my books). I don't play the FPS's as much anymore since the days of CoD4 and the MW2 map pack well not see a cent from me. Don't even get me started on payed unlock for content already on a disc. What ever happened to finely crafting a game. DLC should be a thought after the fact, something a dev just couldn't leave out forever, or a huge pack of content that just didn't make the final cut when the game was being completed. It should be special, something wanted by the fans and created for them.

What are your thoughts on the DLC craze and where do you see it going?

This topic was inspired by this recent post here in the forums....if your wondering!

I truly don't see the point in timed exclusives. I can wait for what I want.

[QUOTE="Lobster_Ear"][QUOTE="fighter91"] Indeed. This nation has been very successful in comparison to many other countries. one_plum

There are many factors that come into play as to why some view us as the most "successful" And like another user said, define successful. I define a successful country as having the happiest/healthiest people. In those regards the US is anything but the most successful.

Economy and military. It's the only thing that matters according to humans' power-hungry nature. Not that I agree with a this definition.

I agree with that definition....it's sad but true. It's a push come to shove kind of thing though....which starts at the bottom with worthless scum of the earth.

I may post on this site, but I don't even read or look at Gamespot reviews. I'll take reviews on community sites and game discussions on independent podcasts any day. Ever since the Gertsmann fiasco, I'm done with IGN/1UP/Gamespot etc..

darktx2005

Agreed! I read some reviews to get a sense of what the game is like but I don't base my game choicesfrom them. I'm an STO player. I'm no hardcore trek fan but I like the game I see myself playing it at least untill Starwars the old republic comes out.:)

Wouldn't a TV with say 120Hz or 240Hz stop screen tearing? I'm sure it helps anyways. I've noticed in Assassins Creed tearing on my 60Hz TV but on my 240Hz TV theres none.

Yeah thats what I'm thinking, but with so many ways to get the game, people with ATI cards are not having trouble with the patch. Since Steam doesn't have the patch, guys with ATI cards and steam get the crap end of the stick. I guess there is such a small percentage we are not hearing much of it.
