No...not really for a MMORPG...i mean i didnt even grind in Wow really....i quested from 1-70. I found it really tedious on PvE servers but on PVP servers i LOVED it.

Guild Wars is a terrible example of a MMORGP its all instanced theres no real social side i found it by far the worst MMO i ever played. If its instanced all the time how can it even be classed as a MMORPG .If you dont have grinding or questing then you cant really have character progression i suppose you could make one that was like a huge FPS buthow long before that got seriously boring? 2 weeks tops. The probelm is you want to log on and be instantly as good as a player who has been playing for months...

You dont have to grind...questing at least in Wow is a far quicker way to level up. Even Guild wars has character progression if you want the best gear you have to go through all the crap pve content which is as much grinding as Wow without the same level of satisfaction and content.

Anyone who says PC isnt for roleplay games is just stupid. The best ever roleplay games are almost exlusively for the PC such as Baldurs Gate 2 not the sorry attempts on the consoles.

Ive never seen a good rpg on a console that wasnt out first on the PC. History for RPGs has always been with PC's and the future rests with PC's aswell games like Neverwinter Nights were ahead of their time shame the second one was a mess. I can name RPGS on the PC before i was playing games and i can tell you that the best are still on the PC. The consoles get alot of junk mostly.

if Steven Spielberg produces the movie...it'll be a great one...thanksberns_i_d2

Ridley Scott! Then it would truely kick ass!

However really you want a Half Life fan to be the director...too many of these games to movies they changed so much it was barely the same story. AVP is a good example...diffrent story to the game or the book...just some random made up crap.

Its like LotR the director was a fan so he stuck true to the book and didnt go making stuff up and just loosely keeping the theme and it turned out great.

For most games - movies biggest problem is the games dont really have any plot...no characters of note...for example Doom. Whats the story? they have to make one up to give it depth...and they employ a series of the worst writers ever to walk the earth...or do it themselves in their coffee break.

As a rpg gamer fanatic i can tell you ones i enjoyed

Baldurs gate 2 - Simply the best but hard for newer players to get to grips with (old)

Neverwinter nights 1/2 - First was great second wasnt as good but its a decent game in is own right (first is old)

KotoR 1/2 - I liked both first is better but older (old)

Vampire Bloodlines - Hugely underated best vampire thing i ever seen or played this game really has an atmosphere. (oldish)

Oblivion/Morrowind - Both are great can be abit hard to navigate for new players but fairly easy after that. (Morrowind is old but Oblivion is fairly recent)

Online theres - World of Warcraft , Everquest 2 and a few others

-Edit- Oblivion is definatly a roleplay game....its practically the definition -

Making a character

Progressing your skills and talents

Options of what you will do revolving round your character and others.

Well....for a while Star Wars Galaxies was decent but i would recommend you dont go anywhere near it now its dead. I would think at the moment Tabula Rasa looks like the closest thing your going to come to that. Well thats short of waiting 2 years on Warhammer 40k Online...
