[QUOTE="smokeydabear076"]Halo is almost on par with PC shooters, it is good to hear that.FrozenLiquid

Then again when you got Call of Duty 2 taking a leaf out of Halo 2's health system, you just wonder if Halo really was behind after all ;).

Honestly, that was only to help console shooters. PC shooters don't need that, and it's better to have health packs, or HL-style health regeneration.

Nice pics but until I see a video of these graphics. I remain skeptical. I don't think that Crysis graphics are all that btw. They look nice in sunny jungle areas but check out the ice stages. They don't look as good. Which leads me to believe that the Cry Engine is only good in certain scenarios. The UR3 looks great no matter what enviroment you see it depicted in. Can the same be said about the Cry Engine? We'll see...

Still looks fantastic in the snow level.

Anyway we've gone off topic, this is about Resident Evil 5 people! What competition does it legitimately have?

Spore. From the guy who created such phenomenons as SimCity, Sim Earth, and The Sims. He has said that this is his biggest game yet. Also, don't forget about StarCraft 2 - sequel to one of the best games of all time.

I really love your opinion of RE4, about it being the best game last generation. Really, thanks for your opinion. I however disagree. I have RE4 (for the PS2), played WoW for over 52 hours, have HL2 etc.

Half-life 2 easily had a better experience than RE4. RE4 made me want to rip my eyes out from the terribly low-res textures, and other muddy looking graphics. Sure, fantastic graphics for 5-year old hardware. Hell, I thought Doom 3 was a better horror game. The shoddy graphics just killed the immersion for me, and so did the horrible controls.

Doom 3 is a snooze fest no joke, it's so painfully repetitive.

Resident Evil 4 had some of the best graphics of its time and Resident Evil 5 will no doubt look visually stunning. Sure it didn't have like Far Cry visuals or something but heck that game was based purely in visuals anyway. The controls also add to the experience. You can't run and gun because running and gunning is illogical and it defies reality. The realism factor makesthe game legitimately terrifying. The standing still and shooting mechanic is perfection because you don't know what's behind you and I kid you not I've screamed like a little girl because of a chainsaw villager was behind me ready to cut my head off clean.

I'd rather kill a million imps a second than stand still shooting at low-res zombies. Realism doesn't equal fun. And FarCry >>> RE4 also.

[QUOTE="Beowulf935"]Well what do ya' know, they consolized it. Regenerating health? The health packs were much more fun.Zeliard9

Health packs are so last-gen. Crysis is going with regenerating health, and I'm pretty sure that's not a console game.

It's called NANO-technology. Realistic regenerating health - I'm pretty sure F.E.A.R don't have this.

Who cares what they come up with to explain it? The gameplay feature hasn't changed. It's still regenerating health.

Fact is, they're only doing this because the game is going multiplat. Same thing happened with CoD 2.

CoD2 got a regenerating health system because it was the right thing to implement to evolve the series. Call of Duty 2 is much better than the first partly because you don't have to look for and horde stupid health packs. That only served to take you out of the game.

Are you seriously telling me that stumbling upon some box with a red cross on it just sitting on the ground or finding painkillers or whatever that fill up your health bar, is more immersive and realistic than regenerating health?

Stopped reading right there.

well, crysis is just a shooter on steroids. Bioshock is much more of a psychological experience.

if i had the choice, i'd play Bioshock rather than Crysis.

But i rather play BOTH

No, that would be Killzone 2.
