@Ripper_TV: by the sound of it, it could be a genuine question from someone that doesn't actually know. (probably not though)

@Silverline62: companies try to get into mobile and facebook games and even heavily invest in it but they won't go to full mobile because it is very risky. it's a winners take all market, you either make $5million a day or operate at a loss, and it's not forgiving. zynga became a multi billion dollar company in a heartbeat but now worth less then the building they are in

@deviltaz35: the difference won't come from the memory the vast majority of the time though (note: I assume a 512bit bus on both), GDDR5X will only matter when you are limited by memory bandwidth and that won't happen at 1440p, the fury x with it's HBM has an even higher memory bandwidth than the GDDR5X, but was limited by the GPU. there's going to be a huge difference between the 1070 and 1080, but it will because one has a 6.5TFLoP gpu and the other has a 9, at 1440p and under if you underclock the 1080p's memory you probably won't see a more than 10% difference, and we also have to see the bus they are going to use.

but that's just my speculation and we have to see benchmarks, which we probably will cause sites will most certainly do a comparison between gddr5 speeds and gddr5x unsing the 1080

@Terrorantula: if it was the PS4 NEO then it wouldn't actually be the NEO and be the ps5 instead with late 2017 or even mid 2018 release to get the price down, that would make more sense, because the difference is closer to the difference between the ps3 and ps4

@Prats1993: not to mention the people who only care about the goddamn score at the end like it meant anything without the context

@sladakrobot: it's more like 18 months nowadays. even intel is breaking their tick-tock cycle and slowing down, because it's becoming more and more difficult working on silicon the smaller we go, maybe we have 2 or 3 die shrinks before we have to change material

@Marky360: not that it matters that much. for 1440p there won't be any difference, maybe at 4k, but people with 4k setups probably go for the higher one

@archav3n: the neo is not a high end though or a new gen console, it's about on the level of a 380x or halfway between the 960 and 970, and for a most likely $400 system that is pretty decent.

(side note: the price difference between the 370 (~ similar to ~ps4) and 380x (~ps4 neo) is about $80, and the neo uses 16nm instead of 28nm so it's cheaper to make, meaning the manufacturing cost probably the same as launch ps4 so it have to be around $400 tops)

@uchihasilver: this is nVidia's high end $380-600 line, don't know when the lower tiers coming, while AMD is releasing their $150-250 cards this year and their high end line later, so only wait for AMD if you are going after the mainstream line
