OK, what the hell? I've been ignoring the update required for a few days now. Today i decided to download and install it as I had a few odds and ends to do anyway. So I did. went to play Force Unleashed and the disc won't show up in the game menu? So I say ok, I have a brand new copy of Brutal Legend that I just bought. lets try that. Put the disc in. same thing. it doesn't show up. I put in my Blu Ray copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. again, no disc pops up. try a DVD, same thing. I can hear the disc drive spinning when I put the discs in but they don't show up at all. Has anyone else had this issue since the latest update? What can I do?

Its an 80 gig fat PS3 btw

I highly doubt it. M$ would have to seriously kiss Sonys butt to let Sony Liscense the technology to them. And since Blue Ray gives the PS3 a serious edge over the 360 I highly doubt that will ever happen. Remember Blue Ray is Sonys format and technology

[QUOTE="aransom"]

[QUOTE="oleface"]i think this will be the make or break year for the wii in terms of third parties.

Part of me hopes we'll finally get some 3rd party games that can compete with Nintendo's games, the other part of me wishes 3rd parties would just get it over with and drop the Wii, so people will quit complaining about it.

Heres the problem. Developers have discovered that they can successfully sell and make money with garbage titles on the Wii. they know they can slap together a crappy title with little to no money and or effort involved and shove it out there and the casuals who don't know any better will just snatch it all up

I don't care. The distinction means nothing to me. I still play Ratchet & Clank, Pokemon, Zelda and games like that that are aimed at a younger audience and more often than not they provide more pure fun and soul than many a "mature" title has failed to do. Silent-Hal
The irony here is i still feel this way about the movie industry too. Most "kid or family" movies are way better than anything Hollywood has been churning out for mature audiences. I still go see every new Pixar and Disney movie, Dreamworks animated movies, etc.

the Wii doesn't have to redeem itself in my eyes. Its done nothing bad yet in my book. It sees more play time than my PS3 does half the time. Sure theres a lot of crap games on it, but thats due to the third party developers just slapping garbage together and pushing it out to try to cash in on the Wiis astronomical sales and mass market appeal. If anything its the third party devs that are to blame for the Wiis negative image of having tons of shovelware. Thats not to say there haven't been some great 3rd party games however. There have been many good ones, you just need to sift thru all the crap to find the gems. As for immersive shooters, I could care less. I hate the shooter genre. I wouldn't buy a game like that if it did come out. A good lightsaber fighter would be awesome though. and now with Wiimotion + I think we may be seeing that soon

I'm actually surprised Microsoft hasn't released an Blu-ray player add-on yet like they did with HD-DVD.Stevo_the_gamer
Give it time, they will. Although considering Blue Ray is a Sony format they may not want to eat the crow involved to get Sony to let them use it

To be honest I stopped caring about maturity and kiddy when I started realizing I game to feel young and have fun. I would rather have people peg E games with kiddy and be ignorant about it then try and defend the depth behind sonic. I don't really care. Also, if E rated stuff like Sonic (of old) and Mario are kiddy, then I'd rather be the guy who knows what he likes then is scared to look immature. I will continue to feel all fuzzy while playing SMG and let people judge my maturity on how I conduct myself. I no longer care.

ActicEdge
What he said!! That sums up my thoughts and feelings on this matter perfectly!! Who cares if a game is considered kiddy? as long as its fun its all good in my books. Hell half the "mature" games out there don't even appeal to me because they don't look like I would enjoy them or have fun playing them. Take any FPS for example. I refuse to buy them because I don't enjoy playing them but I am all over NSMBWii. and for the record I am 28

ok, Is anyone else getting irritated about the fact that they are only putting out one VC game per week now?
