If you just bought the basic game, I wouldn't be worried about it suddenly being pay to play. There is almost no way that would fly. In fact there would surely be class action lawsuits in the US for the "bait and switch". It would be borderline illegal for them to start charging fees for promised content on an "online only" game. What they could be doing is gauging if anyone would subscribe to a similar game like that in the future, or if they offered expansions to MAG, would people be willing to subscribe to them. For me that's a HELL NO. Mag is good. But the game would have to be mindblowingly more advanced and complex than anything else out there that was not subscription based. Otherwise why would someone subscribe to a game ty pe that's widely available to play online elsewhere without the added monthly charge???

Apparantly Newegg had it for $26.99 yesterday. But now it's back to $39.99.

Oh, and Bioshock has inside artwork. So I guess I should have looked at my own collection to find at least ONE third party game. Definitely 90% of them don't though.

Sony isn't the only publisher that does it. Just looking through my games, Demon's Souls (Atlus) and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Tecmo) also have it. I don't necesarily think it looks cheap. There aren't ANY Xbox games use have inside art and I've never had a problem with it so I don't have a problem with PS3 games not using it either.Texas2089

Hmm. Interesting. Maybe it has to do with those games being PS3 exclusives and not multiplatform?

It's not a big deal but just an extra detail in the packaging that I noticed out of all the Sony games I have and never on one of my third party games. I just wondered why Sony does it, and nobody else does. I'm still going to go with the "penny pinching on the packaging" for most developers.

Which reminds me, I really need to get Demon Souls. I mean with double sided artwork how can I not?

Why is Sony the only publisher that uses double sided printing for the inside game art, whereas every other game seems to be plain white on the inside? It's just kind of weird looking through the clear plastic only to see white paper on the inside.

I guess it's a way for manufacturers to save pennies per unit sale, but it looks kind of cheap.

Define "finish" Fifa 10, and Dirt 2??? Do you mean platinum trophy? To me games like that you never really "finish'. At least not as long as their is online play for them. Dirt 2 was an easy game to platinum without really trying since you don't even have to beat the CPU on the hardest difficulties (which I could never do, and forget about winning the weekly tournaments). Fifa 10 seems to make you do alot of nonsensical stuff to 100% "platinum" and I'm sure I will never bother.

I haven't yet finished Dragon Age: Origins. But I was enjoying it about 10 hours in. I guess I have ADD because I was taken away from that by the God of War Collection, and this week to MAG. It's been about a month and I can't really explain why I haven't finished it.

I have a bunch of unopened games. The only game that i started and stopped playing because it was so truly terrible, is the Watchmen. That's probably one of the worst games on PS3 and it's a joke that it was ever available as a retail package. I have no desire to finish it (I probably got through about 3 chapters before I got disgusted with how terrible and repetitive the enemies and environments were). Hell the game is supposedly like 2 hours long and I don't even care. It's not even worth 2 hours of my time. Total lack of effort by the developer and I actually wish I just had the standalone movie in my blu-ray movie collection instead of the bundled PS3 version.

I'm just getting back into renting. Can't buy ALL the games I'm on the fence on. So many of them I'm sure will just be play once, and never again. A 1-week rental is good enough for that. It will be a good opportunity to play through games that I can't imagine ever buying (darksiders, bayonetta, avatar, etc) My first rental was MAG, and actually that game is now a good candidate to buy. So I would say it was a good rental.

I have my PS2 stored away in it's box. I guess I'll be hanging onto it since I have alot of games for it, and many of the games are barely worth $5 now. It's basically not worth the time to even sell it on ebay, and who knows I might get an urge to take it out of the box again. I slightly regret giving away my PS1. I gave my PS1 to Goodwill along with some games for it (since I listed it for auction for $20 and there weren't even any takers!!!). I sold the few games I had worth anything (original Metal Gear, Final Fantasy VII black label, etc. I didn't give away any "classic" games, but I wish I had my hands on Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy 7,8,9 and maybe a few others. I guess ultimately I'll be able to get those on PSN, but it would be nice to play them on an actual PS1.

I didn't put time into the beta and thought it was average. Now after renting the game this week and putting hours into it and leveling up to 30, I'm hooked. It might even be the best shooter out of Battlefield and Modern Warfare 2. I'm seriously considering buying. The 128 and 256 player modes are amazing. Shooting down paratroopers is fun!!! (at first I was like WTF when someone shot ME down). The healing system is great. The varied objectives all over the map on domination is crazy. In summary I'm blown away by Mag, that says alot considering I suck at the game and am just getting used to the chaos on the 256 player map. Problem is Bad Company 2 is effectively $36 and I know it's a great game as well (I already have pre-ordered). MAG is $56 on Amazon. So for now I guess I will keep my pre-order of BFBC2. But as soon as I'm done with that I'll definitely be getting MAG.

Maybe not 19.99, but it's due to be greatest hits anyday now. That should knock another $10 off the price (on Amazon it's $36.99 right now). So it could literally be any day that it falls into the $20's. I wouldn't expect under $20 within the year unless MAYBE there is a black friday sale or some retailer is doing a clearance. Now way the regular price hits that IMHO for at least another year.

Sony is REDICULOUSLY overdue to announce some greatest hits titles. It's been MONTHS. This and Resistance 2 are possibly two of the next titles to be added to the greatest hits library. But when it's going to happen I don't know. I've been waiting though.
