I want to close my account but have been advised that I am unable to do so. I can't stop the emails to my email address even after I opted out of receiving them and really its the principal of it.

I want to close my account for Jeff and for all the Gamespot staff thatI have followed for years. After all the 4700+ posts and reading a billion reviews I really loved this site and the characters that have made up the staff here. You guys did the best and toughest reviews around. This site was THE very best review site and a home to hardcore gamers. Even over the years as I grew older and slowed down the pace of my playing as my family grew and my commitments became more plentiful I still never set foot in a game store without reading the GameSpots staff's account of the game and its merit.

I cannotrecall the last time a game rated over 7 turned out to make me feel like I wasted my money. And that is a valuable service that you guys provided to me. And whats more reading the reviews was a kind of entertainment too. I feel attached to this website and it remains the only site I read regularly which is why this whole Jeff thing bugs me so much. I feel like that trust is broken. One of the few sites on the internet that I thought really held the hobby to higher standard and understood that the reviews were valuable to the consumer.

So it is for Jeff that I commit account suicide. Ban my account permanently or I will come back tomorrow and post something that will surely be a major violation of the TOS here. Not porn cause there are kids here but something that will be very insulting to your new CEO - Mr. JerkOff.

I wanted my last post to be here in System Wars where I fought so many debates when I had more time for such things.

Ban my account. Or make the damn emails stop at minimum. If you can't make them stop I will pull a Suicide on this site that will force your hand.

Laters - Its been real.

P.S. Thanks for all the reviews and stuff. Its been great. I hope Systems Wars is as much fun to those that come later as it has been for me in the past.

What more do we need to know? Doesn't matter why Jeff got canned its already been explained that the review Jeff Gerstmann made was modified and his video taken down after pressure from the publisher. Gamespot caved in to the publisher.

Jeff's firing must have been related and even if it wasn't the proof of the changes to the review and the deletion of the video that can only be found on you Tube now confirm the Site caved in to pressure from advertisers.

GameSpot has no credibility and we don't need for CNets legal team to spin this storywith a BS explanation because the reviews were definitely modified and the video definitely removed. Only one explanation for that.

SELL OUT!

Gamespots a joke. You should have stayed away. Al our time here has been made a mockery by the new management team that thinks its okay to pose as a reputable game site known for giving out the toughest scores on the internet and then selling out to advertisers.

Jeff got fired cause he gave a crap about what he was telling people. We need to respect his act of sacrifice and not put up with this rubbish. This isn't about video games its about TRUTH. About not standing in front of people and pretending you are giving them good advice and give rats A$$ about their interest in this hobby and then lie straight up to them in order to make a buck.

This is a sell out. We are all being lied to. They have gone to extreme measures with Jeff's firing to send the message that if you want to review for Gspot you need to play ball because money drives reviews not the other way around and if lying to the chumps that come here makes a few extra bucks than so be it.

Gspot got sold Out. Thank you Jeff and I am sorry if so many more of us do not stand up for what you did. Remember that even thoughGamespot will probably be affected very little by this many of us understood and spoke out and said HELL NO.

System Wars is dead and so is GameSpot but it wont matter. Most people who come here really are just doing it for the bashing. There wont be a mass exodus. I am about to get banned for ripping everything about what happened in another thread so my clock is ticking but I feel like someone just took a huge dump on my 4000 plus posts here anyway so it dont matter much.

This site is never to be trusted. This company cant get caught doing this and then try to brush it under the rug they are pressuring their staff to soften reviews on advertisers games. Thats a joke and now Gspot which I considered the most respected site on the internet is a joke.

Most of all the jerk that fired Jeff is a joke and hes cheating everyone here that reads reviews thinking that what they say means something. This is about truth but since so many people have been conditioned to be lied to and expect the worst anyway the site will continue. Not me brother. I might get banned tonite but I will say its again and again until they do. GameSpot has no credibility and anyone that reads here knowing what has taken place is just a tool.

You can't use Gamespots scores anymore. If they were willing to terminate Jeff over this its because they intend to change things around here. Why would any of us even bother to come here anymore anyway. I am about to get banned because of another post I made here after over 4000 posts and years of coming here but this is it. GameSpot has no credibility - clearly the new management aims to soften up reviews for major advertisers and they were willing to fire the staff for this.

Its a simple thing. Why would anyone ever trust this site again???

The Mods can ban my account right now for all I care but I am calling it like I see it. GameSpot today lost all credibility. Don't bull**s*hit me that this is an isolated incidentThis is no isolated incident and clearly Jeff's termination is a sign of things to come where new management intends to treat AAA advertisement heavy titles with more discretion. After so many years and so many posts its disgusting to me. Anything less than the resignation of Stephen Colvin the new VP that came over from Dennis Publications is a slap in the face of everyone in this forum and all the long time fans of this site.

Goodbye GameSpot. Please close my account and Stephen if you really did all this - man your a punk and a sell out but you didn't get to where you are giving as*(h)iT about what a forumite says here or anywhere else did you. PUNK!

Long Live Jeff!!!! Goodbye Jeff. Goodbye Tim. Good bye All.

[QUOTE="KrazyKev26"]why are you blameing Sony? Neversoft made GH3 Harminox made GH1,2 and 80s soo the GH3 guitar well only works with GH3 since well they didn't make the other GHs sorry.xDonRobx

You didn't know that its still Sony's fault?

 non-fanboys, they'll just never understand.

The problem with forums is that everybody gets to talk. Thats the good thing too but to everyone who says its not Sony's fault your full of it and misinformed.

All Platform companies have a certification process that insures games are up to the platfrom holders standards. Harmonix and the makers of the game have the right to release it in any condition they want and if they don't care to want it oto be backwards compatible than so be it. You can't even blame them because they never guaranteed anyone BC.

Sony on the other hand did guarantee BC for all of us that bought the system originally. They needed to make sure the game was BC with PS3 before launch and there is no way the game came out with lack of BC without their knowledge but they just don't give a flying F. So please no more its not Sony's fault apoligizing on their behalf because they are the gatekeepers and the ones that made such a big deal about BC. I should not have to check if a game is BC when they Guaranteed it with the original systems. I paid $599 for that BC capability and its now cost me and extra $80.

Thank God I still have my PS2. Unfortunately I lent it out and until I can get it back I am stuck without playing those titles.

Sony Sucks man. They talk a bunch of crap and don't deliver the goods.

P.S. This goes the same for the Hardware certification process whic hI speak to in this post. They should not have certified the guitar without at least a patch ready to download to make the past games work. Now it will be weeks before we get the patch.

I thought the original 60 Gigger was supposed to be fully backwards compatible.

Well I have been waiting forever to get Guitar hero for PS3 (I really wanted a wireless guitar) today I went out and bought the new GH 3 Controller and game and bought GH : 80;s and GH2 while I was at it (already had GH1 from my PS2) .

All set right? NOT. Nothing works with the new Guitar HERO controller except GH3. Nice work with the backwards compatibility Sony. Don't these games have to get checked and certified by Sony before they are released? Now I am stuck playing GH 2 and GH 80's on my wired controller and the PS2. I really wish I had not bought this thing so early and waited will next year when it might actually be worth it!!!

The PS3 2008 season is better than the 360's.

The decision for Xlive to be free or not is strictly up to Microsoft. No maound of campaigning is going to make them change their minds. Everyong should individually decide whether it is worth it. Those thinking its not worth it should not buy it and even go buy another console. Thee is at least one out there currently offering online for free. Good luck and get ready to be disappointed if your use to Xbox Live.

To the OTCreator. This whole free/not free is irrelevant. People that would use it for free but unwilling to pay for it are not buying the 360 ANYWAY. No one that can afford $300 to $400 for a console plus $60 a game plus internet connection fees of $35 to $50 a month is going to hesitate for a second to pay a once a year fee of $50 for Xbox Live. Thats just bull and something that people who like the other consoles say just to take a jab at the 360 cause they are fanboys.

Nothing in life is for free and you get what you pay for ALWAYS!
