It's just a rumor and one I find unlikely. But even if it does happen it won't change anything. BC is one of those things people complain about endlessly when it's absent but care nothing about when it is there.

The great news is that 360 is compatible with tons of Xbox games as well.  So pretty much new Xbox will be able to play anything Xbox related.  Great times ahead.
