Verdict (after 4 hours of beta play):

Titanfall plays great, but it has exactly the problem I thought it would: it's just multiplayer. The end goal of the game just isn't inspiring enough to get me to buy it for anything more than $20. I'd also pick BF4 or Halo (excluding Halo 4) for a go-to MP FPS over Titanfall.

Also, the presence of bots makes gametypes confusing at first but I suppose their presence does fend off the rage quit for failing to kill other players.

Titan free mode would actually be great.

Elpresador is hit and miss with me sometimes but he needs a new camera or setup. Hearing that hum in the background is annoying

I think it's part of what makes him so great, lol. Remember that cardboard cutout he had as a backdrop with sony brotherhood scribbled on it and his invisible camera man? ahahaha.

Alright here's how they balance the smart pistol, when it locks onto players give them some kind of indicator be it voice or whatever that lets them know they are being tracked with it.

Because it's far too easy to abuse, either that or reduce the range or maybe even both. That would do nothing to the easy AI farm.

They did it on purpose it seems bro calm down, Respawn did it with MW2 overpowering some shotguns with some incredible long range power when it first launched.

Heh defending control points can give a crap load of XPs, giving 75 every few seconds. Was first in the last match I did, because I gotten like 1950 in defense alongside a bit of offensive.

The big misconception about Titanfall is that it is simply CoD with Mechs. This isn't further from the truth. Titanfall is its own game. It is much more of an arena type shooter like Unreal Tournament than it is like CoD or BF. It is very fast paced and a ton of fun!

Heh yeah I was shocked last night. For stuff like steam and Guild Wars 2 it around 300kb for me, but for origin it went up to even 3mb.0.0

Even though it's 6 vs 6, it feels like big epic battles every time. Every thing seems well balanced too. Hats off to Respawn, they know how to do multiplayer right. Also I wouldn't be surprised if they add single player action later on if a overwhelming amount people really ask for it. But right now they stuck with the vision of reinventing multiplayer. Well done.

It is probably the Microsoft azure servers im not sure.

This is only for downloading the game, which would be from EA through origin. The game runs on Microsoft's servers. Two different things

@I_can_haz: supposedly there's a link for swapping codes when EA sends the wrong one.

I think the player count is perfect and the bots are a great addition, they may be called "padding the map" but I think they fill a nice role to keep the action going on, I think 6v6 is definitely the best balance, maps already feel kind of jammed once several team mates all have their titans out so I wouldn't want to see any more added.

Getting a lot better at the game now that I've learned to wallrun and wall jump.

My wife just got me an X1 tonight, so now I have all 3. I will likely try the Titanfall beta... however... It is still highly unlikely tat I will buy it. I am excited to get my KI download going soon though. If I was wrong about Titanfall I will be the first to admit it. However, I still leave my expectations dangerously low because I have been disappointed by games that look more promising in the past.

The Contact Us Page on EA's website to swap your Xbone code for PC one isn't even loading. LOL, trust EA to fail at giving out something as simple as a beta code. Launch day for this game will be a total disaster.

Any word if Voltron is in the game yet?

Unfortunately EA help site is down. I guess a lot of people are bombarding their servers trying to swap their codes. Fucking EA man -_-'. How hard is it to give out the correct beta codes? Looks like I'll have to wait for the Open beta tomorrow. Wow, what a mess. Launch day for this game will be bad if this and BF4's launch are anything to go by.

I've been playing the PC version for the past 5 hours.

IMO - Last Titan Standing is the most fun mode. Attrition is stupid, mainly because of all the brain-dead bots milling around like malfunctioning robots.

Haven't tried the other modes yet. The game play is very simple to learn, but it's kinda weird going from pilot mode to Titan mode. Very different pacing.

It's fun on the PC at 1080p/60fps. No idea if the XB1 version is any good though. It definitely feels like it was designed for console controllers though.

Lol at Sasuke ping. :P hope he was just downloading something while the game was reading his ping.

During my download the speed went up to 32MB/s and estimated the entire thing take 10 minutes.. it came back down to 3MB/s though which is about my internet speed.. I think it's a glitch

hmmm seems like they made the xbox dOne version open beta you can get the game right now from the demo marketplace.

Well it looks like I will never enjoy COD or Battlefield the same way again. Titanfall is insane fun. I only got a XB1 code so I will have to wait for the PC Beta to go open tomorrow to play that version. Titanfall is gonna be HUGE.

I also wish they'd show some 360 footage.. of course they won't because they don't want comparison (which is also why they delayed ((my guess))). I imagine the game will look alright on the 360 seeing as the source engine is pretty scalable.

@Infinite_Access: The Xbox One version doesn't look much better than an Xbox 360 game. If you're really curious, I would imagine other cross-gen/platform shooters will be a pretty good comparison.
