MS has Halo Master Chief, Nintendo has Mario Bros, What does PS3 Have?

GOD OF WAR guy? Snake? I mean these guys have nothing on Master Chief, or Mario, and the proof is in the pudding. Just look at sales and hype, nothing comes even close to Mario, or Master Chief on the PS3. Maybe thats why its in last place....

I would like it if Drake prevailed as an exclusive hero for the face of Playstation. However, currently, no character is very well known outside of the gaming world for the Playstation in the same realms as Mario or Master Cheif

MS has halo and gears of war series in terms of games that will sell consoles

Sony has gran turismo and god of war (possibly uncharted series will make this game gears of wars esque enough to sell consoles)

Nintendo has mario and zelda

Unfortunately games like forza series, littlebigplanet, killzone 2, mass effect, uncharted among others are middle tier franchises that won't ever obtain these high sales.

TheMetal Gear serieshas been around for 20 years, and like a poster below me claimed, Snakes connects more with the PlayStation brand, since it was there when it became massively popular.

The Metal Gear series has gone multiplat.

But Metal Gear Solid 4 is the very last Metal Gear Solid game featuring Solid Snake. Snake's story ended with the PlayStation brand. So more or less, he should be consider the main mascot of the PlayStation as of now.

Because in the real world, Solid Snake defines the PlayStation.

So I would say Solid Snake. Since he ain't going to be appearing in neaither Rising, or Peace Walker.

His story ended where he was borned.

What is the point of this thread? everyone on this website is a core gamer, and we all know about Kratos/snake etc. So are you just trying to see which company has more recognizable characters? It is nintendo. Now, I dont think anyone cares because we all know that all 3 consoles have good games that are fun to play so it doesnt matter (to gamespotters) who has a cooler mascot. ( i like kratos the most because i love god of war) now im sure someone who loves mario/ halo will love their respective mascots its all taste.

I figure Ratchet & Clank or Jax & Daxter.

Their PR and advertising departments have fallen short when it comes to sell their hardware. They're completely not good enough to make a franchise character for the face of the company

Plus the fact that everyone forgets he was in SSBB. While Snake tends to be associated with Sony, he is far from their iconic character because of all the platforms he's been on.
