I love grappling towards demons to shoot with shotgun, love the whole dashing ability even in air dashing plus they did glory kill better this time as you upgrade faster animation and also you move faster for few second when perform but what win it for me is grappling and dashing.

plus there has never been a game which include entire game from previous franchise as mini game. never done before.

Just checked some quakecon gameplay of Eternal to see if there were any differences, damn, the game looked much better in their demo. Lighting was noticeably better, there were smoke and dust particles adding to the atmosphere, dead enemies had ragdoll, fire from your flamethrower was much more realistic as well. We got a juicy downgrade.

Its one of the best FPS i played this gen.

They all turned out to be wrong in the end of the day or thier video encourage id to return back to old school roots.

These damn knights with axe and shield blocking all your stuff must be the most annoying enemies i've seen in a shooter. Holy shit.

First encounter, or just in general?

Cause yeah, first encounter I was like wtf is this shit man. Got over it, only to be a annoyed again later on the timed secret encounter.

Now I actually enjoy the extra layer they add to an encounter, and there's a few easy ways to melt them away.

Could probably do without his wolf summon though, don't really feel like it adds much.

If you aint SGS>Balista>Rocket launchering you aint lit.

First encounter. I haven't tested this yet, but knowing i'll see more of them later on, i was thinking if remote detonation rockets when fired over their head/shield would work. Him alone was already a pain in the ass on Nightmare. I don't know what happens with a bunch of enemies in the room lol.

Sometimes I'm just lazy about it and do the whole thing with super shotgun too.

But like Champ posted above, plenty of 3 hit weapon switch combos that work. Some people just switch back and forth between super shotgun and ballista, some throw in rocket, or regular shotgun for the third hit.

But of course the most difficult part is maintaining a proper space. Which you can cheese with remote detonation.

Yup, remote detonation sure works on them. Just had a 2nd encouter in a Slayer's Gate. One shotted the gate easy. The tip to kill these says to stay at mid range, but the best i fund (safest that is) is to stay far and remote detonate rockets over his head.

it is safer to do that, when you have the space to work with, but in more busy scenarios its best to learn how to do the combo. Added bonus it feels so good to pull off every time.

Yea, i imagine on flat ground, he will stick to you and you won't be able to do it properly, but if there's a lot of edges and obstacles, the ai is just not quick enough. Bet you the Bow/Super Shotty or Bow/Sniper mod on the Rifle is great for multiplayer, but i haven't even tested it yet.

Sticky bombs work well, especially in tighter areas.

I hate cheesing with explosives in the newer doom games, but dancing with the Marauders is a pain in the ass.

With the addition of frost grenades, its even cheesier. Frost nade, into 2 normal nades while enemies are frozen, into the chain hook on a maxed out super shotty deletes so well.

At the beginning, i thought the super shotty wasn't very useful at all on Nightmare, but after fully upgrading it, its easily one of my most used weapons now.

Yeah wasn't big on the SSG at first either, but once you get the flame meat hook it's like god damn. Always my default weapon now, threw on the Q key.

I gotta add, the new Whiplash enemy is the dumbest fucking name i have ever heard. What was ID thinking? They better rename them for their next Doom. This is unacceptable.

Not quite as obscure, but I also found some weird ass looking frog thing. Almost looked like Slimer from Ghostbusters. After the first big encounter in Cultists Base, look over the ledge and it's there. Shoot the explosive mine below it and it gives you something, can't remember tho.

Seems like an easter egg, just not sure what its referencing.

Edit: Derp, it's the Dopefish. Knew I saw it somewhere before.

Just finished it. final boss was tough unless someone use sentinal armor.

I beat it on UV and will start another playthrough on nightmare.

@ghosts4ever: No you didn't lol. Casual4ever your gig was called out awhile ago, time to move on bud.

but this game doesnot have manual saves. so no save limit/unlimit matter here.

Not sure if they switch it up on Nightmare, only half way through that run.

But on UV the last boss was just an exercise in patience. They give you unlimited Blade and Blood Punch pickups, plenty of enemies to farm, and a good few BFG shots. Didn't die once, it just took a while.

The encounters leading up to the boss were harder than the actual boss fight.

They throw every type of enemies actually.

beside once i get trick for maruaders, they are not that hard actually. just use balista to them when their eyes turn green.

Man, so not to downplay Nightmares step up over UV in difficulty, all the enemies are at least a little more brutal.

But it's the fodder demons who are really making the difference lol. I hardly noticed the gargoyles in UV, might as well have been a flying version of zombies. On Nightmare these fuckers can be annoying in a busy room.
