Do you consider Halo 5 a top tier exclusive?

I think they are doing a good job of supporting the game, but it just doesn't seem like Halo was the dominant force it once was. DO you think this game is still considered one of the best out their for a flagship title? I ask you SW since you're knowledge is all knowing.

Obviously not. The sales nor scores support it. The could bounce back with Halo 6, but it will probably continue to decline.

Halo Combat Evolve, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, and Halo Reach were the top tiers and all made by Bungle. Halo 5, not so much sadly.

lol Nope. For me Halo 4 and 5 is like the Star Wars movies, not the new ones but like episode 1-3. As a fan, I got them, beat them, and then it sits on the shelf next to the other Halo games.

Yep its the best shooter out on console this gen easily. Any series gets fatigue as it ages, and you'll always have the people that are stuck in the past and wont like it because its not Halo 2 or made by Bungie.

But overall its got a big following and gets routine updates that are all free. And no matter what you say about the visuals (here come the KZ tree bark gifs) mechanically/gameplay wise its a good game. Looking forward to Halo 6 news at E3.

Top tier is a bit much. But I can say Halo 5 was worth owning.

Yes it is. Its the best MP shooter going imo. Splatoon is up there as far as exclusives but what else? Killzone? The support for Halo 5 is top notch, the modes are still coming, the maps are all free, there is no trouble finding games with a robust community. What shooter should I play? KZSF? COD? Star Wars? LOL

It's one of the best games on consoles, and best overall shooter on consoles, but that's not saying that much this generation.

Whilst I certainly think it's the weakest of the Halo games, of course it's still a "top tier" game.

Hell no lol. It neither has the sales nor the scores to be considered top-tier. 343 are not a AAA dev like Bungie was back in the day.

Of course, the SP was fun and the MP is great with continued support from 343.

On topic absolutely, game plays like a dream thanks to the commitment to 60 FPS. There are issues, mostly in the campaign, but the multiplayer alone makes it top tier.

343 redeemed themselves after a meh Halo 4 multiplayer and those first months of MCC. The game has only gotten better. This is one game I would love to see get a review update- I think the metascore would go up to the low 90's.

Halo is still a top tier FPS, and one of the definitive FPS experiences on consoles.

Rock-solid MP with consistent updates. It's a solid release, but Halo just doesn't have that name it had from Halo 1-3. Still, it's an excellent title.

In production yes, but scores no. You need a score like TLOU or Uncharted 2 to be a recognized as a top tier exclusive and subsequent top5 game of all time.

Yes it is, the best fps multiplayer game on consoles with the best support. The single player for me was good and sets up the story going forward with a "how can humanity survive now" question in my head. I know Halo 5,6,7 with be an epic masterpiece when combined.

From a PlayStation fanboy's perspective, no, because Metacritic is their god.

From a sane person's perspective, yes it is.

In my mind it definitely is. It has gotten pretty continuous updates and is easily my most played Shooter this gen. The multiplayer is amazing even if the single player in most peoples mind is slightly lacking

if it anit 9+/10 or universally loved, its not top tier.

Then explain cod. It still sells like crazy despite not getting 9 or 10's anymore. Most fps games now don't really average out over a 9 anymore. Most of the big fps games in recent years have mostly gotten 7 or 8/10.

Dang. Y'all that are saying it sucks hop onto MP right now. While I agree the story is not a good one every other aspect of the game screams awesome especially as of today ( and this coming week). keep your blabber about scores, every game that is great this gen has scored lower than its predecessors ( SFV is still amazing, Dark Souls 3 is amazing, KI is amazing, ECT.) I swear, GS is rating games to appease or incite a response on SW these days.

Back to the topic, everything about H5 screams top tier, it has its issues ( namely the story) but other than that its the best halo game since Halo 3. and don't even bring up Bungie. They are the ones that pulled Halo from is roots with BS in Reach.

That's not good enough. There are enough good shooters on PS4 to completely ignore Halo 5.

Could it be that none of those games were truly great? I certainly have not seen or played or FPS this generation that is deserving of masterpiece rating. Hell I put over 300 hours into Destiny and I know damn there are MUCH better games out there. Same goes for COD, Halo, Madden, The Division, Battlefront, FIFA, etc. A ton of sales and lot of time spent playing does not equal great quality. You never see any one argue that yearly COD games are the best games around.

The thing is Halo 5 isn't even selling that great. It's a flop sales-wise compared to previous Halo games. It's getting destroyed in sales by games like COD, Destiny, and BF so even the sales argument holds no weight. It neither has the sales nor the critical acclaim of a top-tier exclusive. Uncharted 4 will most likely outsell and outscore it.

Yeah I know Halo 5 literally has ZERO ground to stand on as top-tier exclusive. Microsoft is just going to milk the people that still care about it as hard as possible.

Only if you love Halo, if you're more of a passive Halo player then the MCC moreso on account of all the content there.

Splatoon is on the Wii U and outsold Halo 5. It's decline really has nothing to do with install base. Halo 3 set the world on fire with a similar install base to what the Xbox One has now. Halo is supposed to be THE reason to own an Xbox, yet it has a pretty low attach rate. Exclusive in general are becoming less relevant though so this isn't confined to just Halo or Xbox.

I'm gonna be laughing so hard when Uncharted outsells and outscores Halo 5 while being exclusive, and shows exactly how a top-tier exclusive should sell and score.

My argument is that Halo 5 can't be considered top-tier by any reasonable metric nowadays. it's not the best Halo, it's not the highest rated exclusive, and it doesn't even have the sales of a top-tier exclusive either. It's just a good game for some of the fans and nothing more.

It has to outsell Halo 5 by a factor of two to actually outsell Halo 5, the install base is twice as large.

To beat Halo 5's attach rate the game would have to sell 8-10 million.

Thanks for proving my point. If it was a top-tier exclusive like it was when Bungie was still at the helm you wouldn't be using this excuse. Top-tier games tend to have a lot of hype, get critical acclaim, and sell well. Halo 5 came out and hardly anyone noticed because it was mostly disappointing.
