Was hoping he'd fall to the SabresMan Dougie Hamilton looks amazing so far. Thank you Leafs.

One fluke cup and you think you're something special eh? Try playing good teams, that are not pretty much all hurt in the playoffs and see how far you get. The Canucks and Sharks are much better teams than LA. No one picked LA to win the cup last year for a reason.
"Fluke". Um...no. They totally ran over every opponent they faced in the playoffs. Going 16-4 isn't a fluke. It's unprecedented. One fluke cup and you think you're something special eh? And actually..I read quite a few writers picking them to at least be in the finals. They were a good team on paper, but poorly coached and a lack of offense because of it. It's how I was swayed to pick them to win...
And it's one more cup than the Canucks have, now isn't it?
Ovi just does not look good. At all. That play to end the game was...weird to say the least.Yeah my team stinks right now. :(
Caps aren't going anywhere this year.

Typical response when someone talk about the Canucks. LA didn't play healthy / good teams. In the Playoffs. They had it pretty easy for the most part. LA isn't as good as people make them out to be. St. Louis was hurt with Halak. But would it have made a difference? No, seeing as Quick allowed 6 goals ALL series. Phoenix was healthy minus Hanzel and had Smith all series. And NJ was healthy... even if Kovi was hiding something. And the Kings didn't have Gange till the finals, and Quick had a back injury all playoffs where he couldn't even sit down when off ice. But look how he played. Every team is hurt at that time of year, so saying they didn't face healthy teams IS true..but the Kngs were hurt themselves.[QUOTE="JohnBean42"] "Fluke". Um...no. And not good teams? Pretty sure Vacouver was #1 and the only injuries I can think are maybe someone was hiding it. And STL was 2 points worse. And Phoenix wasn't that good, but had a Vezina contender in net, and won the Pacific.
And no one thinks they're the be all end all. I think less people picked them this year than last year. It's all Blues, NYR, Pens, Canucks, etc.
Lucked out playing teams that weren't healthy? Flip the script a little, say the Canucks(my team too) won the Cup last season under the same circumstances. Would you be claiming they won by fluke? I don't think so. But because they were favorites, it's their birthright to beat unhealthy teams? That's the beauty of the NHL playoffs, once you're in, all bets are off. Maybe if Bobby Lou played like the 6'3" man he is and not a swimmer competing in the breast stroke, we might just have a few Cups.

The only one that sounds like a 14 year old here is you. Maybe throw some more icons into your posts. We'll see how far they get this season.
And again, this isn't about Vancouver. You guys are the only ones talking about them.
I thought this was pretty good.

Sabres GM, Darcy Regeir states that the team's defense needs work. Yes, but they are last in faceoff win percentage...so getting a faceoff guru would be excellent.Los9090I don't know how Ruff can survive them playing like the have over the course of the season. As we've seen, in season changes can work out very well. And Myers just doesn't seem like the same player he once was.

He's hilarious. I read his book, and it was awesome.Tim Thomas traded to the Islanders for a 2nd round conditional pick. Pretty much a cap move for both teams, helps the Bruins by adding cap space and the the Islanders stay above the cap floor. If he never plays for the Islanders apparently they won't even give up the pick. Seems like a good trade for both teams.

As a Bruins fan I can say I appreciate everything TT did for us but with Rask,Khudobin(who I think is the most under-rated backup) and up and coming Subban despite his world jr troubles. When Timmy comes back (if) he will be a intriguing target, everyone knows the fire in his belly and how competitive he is. If the leafs can't grab Luongo I wouldn't be surprised to see rumors of him going there just to piss the B's off.Â

Darcy won't ever fire him, so if Lindy goes, Darcy will too. And Myers has been dog crap this season. He did get hurt out in Europe and maybe he is having a nagging issue. But his +/- is alarming.

But I know he's been bad.
[QUOTE="Los9090"]Safe to say that the Kings have a Cup hangover?Swanogt19as fan of the team with the previous hangover. It takes about a month and a half for the team to get their sh*t together. :P
Â
While I agree with you on the most part, we had a fully healthy team and got our crap back together. They are missing their top 2 d-men. If we lost Chara and Seidenberg we probably wouldn't have fared better.Â
Â
Nothing against the Kings and I really hope for a turnaround but I wouldn't be surprised to see this go on for a little bit longer.
The last 2 Leaf games have been 2 of the best I've seen in a while. Only negative: Reimer is hurt. For how long though, I don't know. Hopefully it isn't serious, but he couldn't even move his leg. He's has been excellent this season. Still big win, great job by Scrivens to shut the door on short notice. Oh and  @ Schenn on the JVR goal. Great to see the ACC so loud and giving them a standing O.
This team just seems...different. Every line is playing hard, the 4th line has had some great shifts lately, and the goaltending has been stellar...even though Carlyle has made some odd choices, most have worked..
They could just be giving us a false sense of hope like every other season. :P But really, Carlyle has been excellent. I haven't seen a Leafs squad play like this since I was 9 years old, with the likes of Sundin, Roberts, Tucker, Mogilny, Joseph... I really wish 2002 was our year. ):The last 2 Leaf games have been 2 of the best I've seen in a while. Only negative: Reimer is hurt. For how long though, I don't know. So the NHL still doesn't hand out suspension for biting? And to my Leaf fans this is mostly frustration left from Burrows. :PSwanogt19The NHL seems to be the most inconsistent league when it comes to punishment. You never know what to expect. :P

Wouldn't that make them consistent in being inconsistent? If there was proof of a bit, he'd be suspended. Since there isn't any, I'm fine with the no punishment. He'll get his eventually anyways. It's not like he'd escape retribution had he been suspended.
