No, i've sli them before ....
in crysis at 19x12, 280 gets 34.3 fps, 8800gt sli gets 37.4!! so yes the sli is better, it also draws less power,280 at load at their specs is 313.1 watts!!!! compared to 8800sli at 271.8 watts.

Well in my experience the 280 give me smoother gameplay than 8800gt sli ,sli may give more fps but i can't stand the microstuttering and aa eat my sli gt alive, not to mention I lose one of my moniter when I enble sli.
^^ he right, it been shown that GT sli 8800s are not as good as GTX280, which kinda like DUH, sinse 280 got brand new generation processor ect also look at its brandwith.
atm though if you allready have 8 type card it isnt worth upgrade,UNLESS you want to have super high FULL AA on and high res, that only reson for GTX280 which very exspencive.
260 a better choice,,,,BUT early reveiws show that the 4850s in crossfire are cheaper than 260GTX..BUT WAIT FOR IT::
GTX280 performance and above!!!!!.
i getting the 4850s in crossfire once released, cos ATI beating nvdia on graphics card war atm. 260 price tag and 280 performance:)

I'll take your word (someone who has actually experienced the REAL WORLD results) over someone just reading reviews.
People will believe anything they read without finding out for themselves.
