I stopped when you said rather follow a rock/metal group than be religious. You can be religious and enjoy rock and heavy metal.

Religion is what you make it and it's not a necessity in life.

Today's kids look down on pretty much everything. And I disagree that they believe in working hard.

Morals and ethics come from a good, loving home life and environment. In this day of easy access to information and technological advancement, its not really that hard to see why more people would be less religious. Not just teenagers either, thats just a generalization because they're more vocal about their views, and think everyone should care about them.

I don't smoke, do drugs, I have an occasional drink and party once in a while, I don't go having random sex and doing crime and I'm agnostic. I've seen religious people do far worse than me which is one reason why I've stopped believing in the influence of religion.

Or they didn't watch Carlin and instead came to their conclusion about religion on their own.

Most wars? Please, list all wars (all wars) and point out those which were caused by religion. Were there same huge wars caused by religion? Yes, yes there was. But given the sheer amount of minor, ancillary wars caused by political strife, patricide, and economic disparity it is a huge demand to prove that most wars were caused by religion.

Not just that, but even those wars that were classifed as "religous" had lots of other political and economic goals. There are many scholars that argue that even the crusades were economical in cause.

Yeah because its totally wrong to do that lol

Religion SHOULDN'T be the foundation of anything, we shouldn't need an invisible watchman to do things right. Are you actually blamming atheis for drugs cause im as atheist as anyone can be and i dont do drugs, and sex is not a bad thing, also why shouldn't i have peace of mind if i do things right, do you think only religious people do the right things? lol

I blame Advancement of Technology and Fast Life

I also think its thanks to the technology and science many people have open their eyes and realized there is no god.

Please dont throw bible verses around like they matter. VanDammFan 3:16..Nobody is perfect. But what you call laws of the bible I call common sense. I dont need someone to tell me NOT to cheat on my wife...I kind of "know that"...OR to not kill someone...You kind of are born knowing these things..Someone does something nice for you...you do nice for them...Its called born response NOT GOD.

Anyone can write a book of childish stories that contradict themselves every other page. AND there have been thousands of people that have come off as the masia to millions of people with their power and magic tricks..People back in the "bible" days were complete ignorant, easy to fool. Now days people have more common sense and see through ignorance "for the most part" that is..

People have started to realize that there is more to life than what is printed in a book. In my opinion, humanity is evolving still and thus our frame of mind is going to change along with that. Christianity for example is not the foundation for religion. It was evolved from earlier forms of belief that existed before Christianity, and molded to fit the time. As we evolve people have come to see things in a different light. That does not mean though that they do not believe in something, just that they choose not to believe in the way that everyone else wants them to. Everyone should be free to believe in what they feel is right. In today's world, that tends to stray away from more of an organized religious approach to a more free spirited belief in life and the universe.

i know we have to be careful what we say about religion just in case anyone get offended or precious feeling get hurt.

but im 31 and i never believed in jesus or god. ive always seen religion as a pack of lies created by a bunch of men claiming to have the answers and pretend to know everything.

well the fact is that nobody knows why we are here, NOBODY. and anybody claiming they do whether its religious leaders or scienist are liars.

organized religion is about 100 times more evil and has caused more misery and death than any of the "sins" you mentioned.

i'm proud that they are shunning religion and that many see it for what it is.

Merely because one has failed to perceive or find evidence does not mean there is no evidence. For all the skeptics may know, I could hold the secrets to God's existence. If one cannot even prove I don't have evidence, how can you hope to prove the masses of the unmet do not?

There being no presented evidence is more than enough reason to doubt the existence of something, let alone basing your life upon it, or going as far as many religious people go and try to force their beliefs on others, even when they themselves have no evidence.

The absence of evidence is not itself the evidence of absence. Merely because you have no evidence that X is the case, that is not sufficient justification to say that X is not the case. Schrodinger's cat; until you can prove that X is not the case, X may still and yet may still not be the case at the same time. It is a fallacy to state, merely because you have no evidence presented to you, that no evidence exists. There are far too many unknown variables; inadequate research, inadequate resources, etc. Until you can prove that these religious people have no evidence, the intellectually proper thing to do is to withhold judgment. All judgment. [QUOTE="Vinegar_Strokes"] you could also hold the evidence for dragons, santa claws, the tooth fairy and batman. but untl you present that evidence i have no reason to believe you.

Neither do you have reason to say that I am wrong or that I actually do not have evidence.

Well mathematics and science are based around the same crux as religion is; an unwavering belief in a sense of some kind which is plausibly subject to the sways of delusion and subterfuge. I question the scientist as much as I do the priar.
