Why must we consider all people who are racist stupid? Just because they have different opinions than us doesn't make them any less intelligent than everyone else. I'm not racism by any means, but just because they are racist doesn't make them uneducated.

A racist opinion qualifies as a stupid opinion.

The reason this happens is because people are fed up with Hispanics coming to the US and refusing to assimilate.  We don't want to live in Mexico and that is pretty much what is beginning to happen or has happened in parts of the US.  Most Americans want this problem of illegal immigration to stop without giving amnesty to those here illegally.  Not because we don't like hispanics but the cultural impact is profound.  Most Americans are tired and nervous about the spanish language becoming an expected norm in our society.  To name a few reasons...  Overall the hispanicification of american culture is out of control and in 30 years this country will culturally be unrecognizable as it once was.

Whether you agree or not, this is where all the hate towards the hispanic community is coming from in relation to patriotism in the US.

Indeed. The United States however has never had a national language (the Founding Fathers apparently believed establishing an official language to be undemocratic). All those countries are, for the most part, homogenized culturally, racially, linguastically, etc and have developed this homogenization "naturally" in the course of their history. The United States is a far different animal though. From the start the idea has been that America welcomes all (no matter where you're from, what tongue you speak, what culture you bring with you) into her embrace, that America is the great melting pot.

Mexico and most other Latin American countries are multiracial and multiethnic, yet I'm not gonna go over there and bitch about everyone speaking Spanish, so immigrants from that part of the world shouldn't come over here and bitch about everyone speaking only English. If you're going to another country to live for a long time, you should at least make some attempt to assimilate, and learning the country's most predominant language would be a good start.
