who would have seen these poll results coming...hamstergeddon
Nearly everyone in OT probably, since they claim to have IQ scores of over 140.
My IQ was scored at 139 when I was in my teens; I'm led to believe that this is good, but I'm not overly fussed on IQ testing because I think it's too bias. But I'm pretty sure I killed off a few brain cells with alcohol after I turned 18.
I am academically smart, but in common sense situations I would be 'dumb'. I think if you're common sense smart, you're better off than most people. No good being highly intelligent if you can't manage to function in the rest of your life.
[QUOTE="BumFluff122"]We can see that with the way you spelled "definitely". Sorry, I'm a grammar Nazi.exectaly.I'm definitaely below average.

What a very subjective question. Everyone is brilliant, but we all have our different ways of showing our brilliance.
People's perception of brilliance is very narrowminded IMO. There are different ways of showing brillianceout there (from being a lawer, to being a scientist, to even being the best person on the basketball court). That is why I dont like the idea of an IQ test.
"I am beautifully and wonderfully made" (psalms 139:14) That's the only thing that matters. Everything else, is just speculation.
Yes, mostly definitely. Most of what you say in incoherent babble to my ears. >_>.I´m pretty dumb

Depends, I do have a fairly high IQ altho not earthshattering(142), but social skills and my ability to express myself is fairly aweful, due to the fact that there can be large stretches of time where I dont interact with another human being (includes, phone and net).
I do not consider myself smart tho, anyone can be lucky on tests, and logical thought is far from the only thing factoring into being "smart"
(yay, my 1000th post!!)
lol poll results so far: nearly 60% of OT voted smart. OT is an educated place. ;)
and thank you to the poeple who were honest enough (or were joking around) to vote dumb. I know you guys aren't dumb. :)
I'll go with dumb. I used to think I was fairly clever in school, but if there was one thing I learned from my university education (and it was just the one thing) it was how uncompromisingly mediocre my own intellectual gifts are.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold it there a bit. Do you realize there is a HUGE difference between "uneducated" and "dumb"? These two do not go together, although when a man knows a lot, he's probably not a complete moron. Smart does not go along with educated as well. (and really, if you wanted to make a serious poll you could have at least give some iq-like tests if you want to see who;s smart and who's not that smart, or some history - general knowledge test to see who is educated and who is not. An average attention-looking guy that just has a high opinion of himself would just go for the smart option, which is the majority case here)(yay, my 1000th post!!)

I think i need one more choice. i am not bumping threads, but kitty is really making a bad topic. Choice: none of the above.victorwang
one more choice? what would it be?
I'm pretty smart, I just don't apply myself. Especially in math class, it's too boring to pay attention to half the time.mohfrontlineThis this this.
Four degrees, huh? What in, if you don't mind saying?Smart...
Not that school is necessarily and indicator, but atm it is the only applicable evidence at hand.
-I am four cla$$es away from degree number 4 and have only had 1 B in college (rest A's)
-I got paid to go to school because of my scholastic abilities/achievementsBut, in all reality, someone would have to develop an intelligence test that only measures intelligence (not common knowledge and cultural tendencies) for us to have any reasonable conclusion about this
Intelligence is your capacity to learn; wisdom is the knowledge you have accumulated.
A 10 year old genius should score higher than me on an "intelligence" test, but that is not usually the case because most measure a combination of intelligence and wisdom.
I would love to see someone develop a pure intelligence test (only measures your capacity to learn)...would be fun to take IMO.rawsavon
