The Metroid: Other M Thread - GS - 8.5, IGN 8.5, NP 8.5, Etc!

Well I will say Nintendo is not really relying on taking the biggest moments of the game and putting them in the trailer to feed hype. They are mostly just basic gameplay, especially now with a bigger emphasis on showing that the game is in fact a Metroid game with exploration. So their not really spoiling anything.

OMfG so good! Tons of outside and organic environments in this triler. This should quell all of the complaints some people have had about the whole "plastic ship" madness.

Asked by ONM what makes the perfect Metroid experience, Sakamoto responded "It is to fully understand, feel empathy and fight together with Samus Aran. In other words, it is to play Metroid: Other M. I hope you will enjoy playing Metroid: Other M for a perfect Metroid experience."

He seems really happy about the final outcome. I'm hoping for the best.

Hmmm what if the entire game takes places on the bottle ship? I say that considering that the previews mentioned that the outdoor environments are illusions/holograms cast in different parts of the ship.

Nonetheless, that trailer has me hyped even more--it looks like the game play is fun and the visuals are beautiful. I can't wait!

I don't care what people say. I think the game looks great both artistically, and technically. The artstyIe is a great alternative to the Prime games. I'm not very good when it comes to technical stuff, but Other M is probably the best Wii game technically so far.

still not a fan of the cutscene art style (anime), it just feels out of place. Also not looking forward to the cheesy story TN came up with this one. However, with that aside it looks fantastic and i cannot wait!! =)

- roughly 15 hours long if you rush through and don't explore
- "the gaming equivalent of a Michael Bay movie, a white knuckle thrill ride that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go."
- concern over Concentration move, which might be tricky to pull off during battle
- over-the-shoulder sections seem clunky and slow the pace down
- more tense silence than pounding music, but it does pick up during action sequences
- some music choices seem strange for a Metroid game

Oh I totally agree. To me this fact is barely debatable.To me it's been as blatant as day from the first video. I believe that once it's released doubters will see that.

I know it's not really directed to Other M but oh well, I found this video. It's from the Star Pop Orchestra on the Video games Live in 2008 in Paris. It's some Metroid songs orchestred. I thought it was cool.
