I just hope there's a Darksiders 3 in the future and it's quality regardless of who makes it. The original was a breath of much needed fresh air for games.
Some gamers want Assassin's Creed every year.* There, I fixed that for you Ubisoft. Anyway, if you want to run the well dry and inevitably stagnate your sales then by all means. I personally wont be attributing to this.
@MusclesJAM That actually gives it less room to succeed since it has more odds to overcome and is far less in the mass public's eye. Despite all that, it smashed everything anyone was expecting besides SE upper management's unrealistic expectations.
Sells almost 4 million physical copies in less than a month and this isn't even including DLC and digital sales. LOL Square Enix upper management is horrible. They'd never admit this as a failure if it were a FF game not an online iteration and defend its ACTUAL underwhelming performance at every turn *cough XIII-2 cough* Yoichi Wada finally stepping down (he should have never been president period) gives them a chance to finally have good upper management. Or it could get worse.... Hopefully not the latter and better days for the company from a fan and business perspective are on its way now with Wada on his way out.
FF and Square as a company died to me a long time ago. I only care about the Eidos and Crystal Dynamics stuff coming out from them as those teams and games actually are great. All the talent that was responsible for the golden age of Square are gone for the most part. They knew it was going down the drain and jumped ship. Smart guys. Sakaguchi is still making awesome games so we can get the FF magic from him. Lost Odyssey 2, The Last Story 2 or a new IP from Mistwalker? I'm on board. R.I.P. Squaresoft. Screw Square ENix.
@gho5ty PS2 released in 2000 and was retired in 2013. Yet STILL has games being made for it because Sony allows it to. It was the same with PS1 with how it released in 94 yet had games up until around 2006. 10 year plan means support for 10 years minimum, not that it will take that long for a new console to come after the last.
Well, people's BC fears can be put to rest and this technology makes it cheaper than the hardware emulation the PS3 formally used before it was removed.
That makes no sense. She's just a female rather than male. That doesn't affect game design and stories unless you stupidly assign gender roles. Females for some games like say Dead or Alive have been the major reason why the games sold well. Tomb Raider sold extremely well due to quality and variety in the protagonist being female. Sex does sell but again, you don't have to sell your characters out to have them exist and sell copies. It's the same thing I said when Cliffy B spoke that survival-horror nonsense the other day. Make a quality game, advertise it well and it will do well period.
Not that I'm not happy Australians can legally play it now but it's WAY too late at this point. Fighting games are dependent on its online communities unless it has a large arcade and offline scene. MK doesn't have either of those and game is nearly dead. Going to be further outshined by the same studios' next game, Injustice: Gods Among Us which is also a fighting game. Yeah, waste of time at this stage.
