Incredible achievement in the contemporary MMO marketplace, I hope they're making scads of cash.

We have to be careful of comparing GW2 SALES vs. WoW SUBSCRIBERS though. If we accept that WoW had 1.5m subscribers at the same point in its life-cycle, that's 1.5m people paying per month to play the game, it tells us nothing of actual boxes shifted by that point, which could easily have been twice that.

Or it might not, the point is we don't know, so claims of "fastest selling" seem a little ahead of themselves.

@cachinscythe Good luck making this kind of case to the local crowd.

No settlement required. The guy is squatting on a MS trademark and as per the rules they have a right to get it off him. It would be different if he'd built a XBox fan site or something relevant to the name, but he didn't.

@PSdual_wielder @Scarab83 Gamespot is overall an appallingly limited and partisan sub-section of the wider community.

@bannermanner Simple. Real-life is a grey, complicated mess and nothing you read on the internet should be taken at face value, whether you agree with it or not.

I've pulled 150+ hours out of D3, and that's for the same money as 10 hours out of Tomb Raider. I call that value. Both superb games. Looking forward to the expansion, Blizz.

D3 hate has provided me with some of the best entertainment I've ever seen on the internet. Commentards ranting about how bad the game is and how they want their money back, then in the next breath saying how they're closing in on max Paragon. A constant stream of self-pwning nonsense. Delicious.

@ShadowOfKratos We don't? There have been several articles recently where indies have complained how hard the poor, disadvantaged garage programmers have it. Everyone will complain as long as the world doesn't deliver dollars to their letter-box every morning.

@FallenOneX Yeah exactly, but it usually means the challenges scale to match the money. So a project that receives 10x its goal might (I say, might) become 10x more difficult to deliver. In Occulus's case, IIRC they dramatically increased the spec of their dev kit to accomodate the increased funds.

@FallenOneX That's not how Kickstarter projects operate. As the funding increases, stretch goals are added that increase the scope of the project in line with the funding.
