HA, looks like I spoke to soon. This morning Steam patched my game, now the frame rates are so low I can barely play again. *sigh*

Its pretty obvious the original poster didn't get far into the game, because this game is so much better than its predecessors. The more I play the more I am convinced of that. It does start out a bit slow and repetitive, but it seems like this is to let you get a handle on how the controls etc work. But the new missions, the game play, it's head and shoulders above any of the other GTA games. I absolutely LOVE the bank job mission, one of my favorites and the first time I have any real cash in the game (my little ugly eastern European is getting dates now). Sorry but have to disagree with the OP, and I can see why this game easily scores a 9.0

I bought this once Steam released it and I had drastic slow down issues playing the game. I have my resoultion set to the 1600x1200 setting (I cant get it to take and hold the high def resolution), and I have graphics set to very high. Things got so bad I had to drop to 1280x720 to play, but the jaggies were horrible. Last week there was a patch released by Rockstar and new drivers for my video card, now Im back at 1600 and very high and it's very smooth again.

Steam has always been fast for me, might be your connection? Could be a temporary issue with your client or Steam. Could be your firewall? Lots of things at play. What is your connection type and speed?

There is no need to copy it to a disc, once you purchase a game it can always be downloaded and installed on your HDD. So if you get a new PC for example you just install Steam and login. It will see that you have games that aren't on the new computer and will allow you to download and install them.

You think they arn't? Macs are PC hardware. Mac is an OS now, there is no Mac hardware platform.

Captain__Tripps

Stop being obtuse, I think most people understand the difference between a MAC and a PC. Most people associate a PC (IBM Clone) as running Windows, and Mac hardware as running Mac OS. When someone tries to use PC hardware for Mac OS they are sued by Apple. So lets keep this about what it is, two different operating systems being lump together in one forum.

Makes little to no sense, considering MAC is the red headed step child of the gaming community. Game generally come later if at all to the MAC platform, so you get goofy post like this crying about why more games done come to the MAC OS.

I guess they thought the 11 post a year in the Mac forum would just blend in with all the PC talk :)

So this is what you do instead of finding a REAL girlfriend? Sad.

[QUOTE="warmaster670"][QUOTE="tkemory"]I am wondering why they combined Mac Games and PC Games forums? lol. What's next combining PS3 and 360 forums?Hippostrike

how is that the same? no point in having a mac gaming forum as noboy games on macs.

Its the same, PS3 =/= 360, just like PC =/= Mac. Makes no sense to lump Mac and PC into the same forum they are completely different animals.

Macs are PCs.

Sure they are...
