no... we're saying Forza 2 is better than GT5 becuase Forza uses 9,000 physics parameters and GT games use 300... (yes, HUNDRED)

the damage modeling is just one MORE aspect of Forza over GT games..;)

worse still; Forza 2 has over 9,000 physics parameters while GT games use a measly 300...

why people call gt games "sims" is beyond me....

[QUOTE="blue_hazy_basic"][QUOTE="ZIMdoom"]

[QUOTE="Cubs360"]Thats just weird, Either do all cars with damage or none at all. Half Ass!ZIMdoom

If they did none with damage, people like you (and the others here) would cry about it. But as the article clearly states, some car makers wouldn't allow their cars to be damaged in the game. Most of the cars will be damageable.

For all any of us know, the car damage is set up in such a way that it is minimal, or only a graphical feature. Or, perhaps the non-damage cars can only race against other non-damage cars, like a new class.

Who knows. This is just another excuse for the Sony haters to cry about something.

LOL this excuse was being used 10 years ago. That GT was so realistic they could have damage or cars flipping out round corners becuase then people would know the precise speed to be able to do it at. Its damage control. The same way that VF online was impossible online because you had to make milisecond decisions which couldn't happen over a connection, remember that one?

Actually no, I don't remember that at all. I'm just saying that people are jumping to ridiculous conclusions right now without knowing all the facts.

noone's jumping to anything..

the "facts" are right out of Kaz's mouth...

1. not all cars in Gt5 wil have damage as promised by cows.

2.realism = "soul"... (easily one of the dumbest things he's ever said.. and he's said a LOT)

3. car manufactures won't let them include damage, when other sims have no problems with the same manufacturers... ie: kaz is lying...again..

again, why do you care when own neither a 360 nor a ps3?

do we really need another "just wait' thread when EVERY promise associated with "just wait" has failed?

Alot of people here doesnt realize the true reason why it is so hard to include damage system on Gan Turismo games. Now GT critics, read this; BECAUSE GT USES ACCURATE BUILD OF REAL LIFE BRANDED CARS & MOST CAR CORPORATIONS DOESNT WANT THEIR PRODUCT TO LOOK DEFECTED IN PUBLIC VIEWING! Polyphony would either pay these companies or persuade them. GT5 will have around a thousand branded cars in its library now thats alot of work just to include all damage engine to the cars in the game.

I would rather play a driving simulator with 1000 real life based cars with no damage than 1000 fictional brand and copied cars from real life with damage system.

Rikusaki

Forza 2 has real cars also and is able to have damage also so you post fails.

Wrong. GT5 Has the most accurate builds of cars of any racing sim out there. I would also play a game that has real life based cars rathere than copied cars with damage.

Stop believing everything Sony says like it is the word of God. I mean really, Sony also said there would be damage then look what happened only a few cars will have it. Just because Sony says something does not make it true.I swear the way Sony fans go by everything Sony says like it is law just amazes me everytime. Gt is not the only game to use real cars with accurate builds. Forza 2 has real cars also and is the best exclusive sim at this time.

The Gran Turismo Series is still the best selling racing sim.

1. it's been on the market YEARS before forza even hit.

2. it was sold on a console that had 8 times the userbase of the console Forza was on.

Thats just weird.

Forza had cars from every major manufacture like Ferrari,Toyota,Honda,Mclaren and they all had damage. There's no reason Polphony shouldn't have it on all cars.

Eltroz

Its harder for Polyphony to do damage because:

1. They have never done it before.

2. The cars are too complex (200,000+ POLYGONS PER CAR)

OMG Who cars if they have never done it. IS that really a excuse for you? I am sorry but it is time for them to advance some and learn to catch up to the times or at least the Sony fans could admit it is not a SIM racer.

I almost don't have the heart to tell him Forza 2 uses up to 220,000 polys per car and STILL incorporates damage in every car...

D'OH!!

not true... stop believing the hype...

unless you can point out EXACTLY what GT5 models have that Forza/Forza 2 models don't have...

i haven't seen anything....

Compare a Forza car model compare it to GT's model then compare it to real life.

"GT5 should only be compared to real-life, not other games."

i have compared.. and i'm still waiting for you to point out what makes GT models more accurate...

it's sad that Forza 2, released in 2006 has ALREADY trumped a game not to be released until the end of 08, altho 09 is a better estimate....

"fakeismo"...

i love it...!!

Well GT definitely has more of a style than the Forza series. S'pose that's the 'soul' he was talking about?

As for the damage. I suppose that's good news for people who really want it.

rocklegacy2

using "style" is almost as pointless as using the word "soul" in a simulator...
